Label Clothing and Lunch Boxes
Please make sure you label your children's jackets and lunch boxes with their first and last name so it is easier to locate if lost.
Medication
Parents if you need to have medication available for your child at school, please fill out a 
medication consent form  and return it to the office.  If the medication is prescription, the form will need to be signed by your doctor.

Dear Parents,
The end of year rush is upon us. As I look ahead at the schedule of events for the month of May, I am reminded of the start of the year

Elementary Art Show

Come after school and check out some of the amazing student art work from the school year! Grades 3/4/5 will be displayed upstairs in the hallways and grades K/1/2 will be displayed in the breezeway along the outside chapel wall, across from the 2nd grade classrooms.
Art work will be displayed starting April 23th through May 17th.

Kindergarten & 5th grade Graduation Pictures
Graduation is quickly approaching and we will be conducting graduation portraits next week, Wednesday,  May 9th
Still Light Studios will be on campus to 
take cap and gown portraits and non cap and gown as well. Three weeks after the shoot date,  parents will receive an email
with the link to their private online gallery to view and purchase 
their photos. 
3rd grade Grandparents Day is Friday, May 11th
No Parking on Campus

On Friday, May 11th the 3rd grade students will be hosting Grandparents' Day for the grandparents of the 3rd grade students. There will be regular drop-off and pick-up of students, but there will be NO parking available in the parking lot all day. Faculty and staff will be parking offsite. We need all spaces for visiting grandparents.
In honor of our grandparents, please have all students (K-5) dress nicely on May 11th. Thank you for your cooperation!

Festival of the Arts - Saturday, May 19
Festival of the Arts will be  Saturday, 
May 19th A ll music groups will perform during the day. Schedules and more information will be sent out soon. This fun celebration includes food trucks, jump houses, and other fun for the whole family! 
The dress code for the students will be a  solid colored shirt: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue or Purple with blue jeans.

at 12:45 .

No Snack Service - All students need to bring one from home! Extended Care is available after school-No Lunch Service-All students staying for Extended Care will need to bring a lunch from home!
Slingerland Summer School 
VCES will once again be offering the Slingerland Summer School Program for students who have completeted grades 3,4, or 5. 
All students must be recommended for the class. This program runs from June 6th - 29th and is a multi sensory approach to the Language Arts and is beneficial to students who need strengthening in the areas of reading, writing, spelling and oral language.

Applications For 2018-2019
Applications for the 2018-19 school year are available online. If you have a Kindergartner starting next school year or a friend who is looking to apply, it would be a great time to get the process started.  For application information, please contact Michelle Furr at [email protected] .
Extended Care
Extended Care bills for the month of  April  will be mailed out the first week of May  and are due by May 15th .
Also, if you have an outstanding bill please reconcile as soon as possible. You can now use our new extended care white mailbox outside our office to drop off your payments.  If you have any billing questions,  please contact  Kim Artman @ [email protected].
On No School days when Extended Care is open please make sure to send a lunch with your child  as our lunch service is not provided on minimum or days when school is closed. 
Chapel Days & News
Chapel is held every week. Times are as follows-
Thursdays: Kindergarten-2nd grade from 10:50 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Fridays:  3rd-5th grade from 8:50 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
If you would be interested in presenting a chapel or have a suggestion for a chapel speaker, please contact the office.  Please encourage your children to wear nice clothing on chapel days.
