Last Week for the Warrior Challenge!
On Monday and Tuesday, our first and fourth grade students will be handing out Oconee Christian Academy window decals during morning and afternoon car lines. On Thursday, we will be counting the number of decals placed on car windows in the car line and in the parking lot. A generous donor will contribute $10 per decal on parent and student cars and $20 per faculty-staff cars. This donation will be split between the first and fourth grade classes as part of their Warrior Challenge fund. Show your school spirit and promote our wonderful school!
Remember, in order for donations to count toward class or individual fund raising totals, the gifts must be turned into the school office by 3:00 pm. Friday, April 20th.

We are in the home stretch! New prizes are being added daily. so please continue securing donations. Duke Energy employees can have their donations matched by the company, so check with the company to complete the necessary paperwork.

Warrior Spotlight: Abby and
by Ethan Holland
Ethan: So Abby, what sports have you played while at Oconee Christian Academy?

Abby: “Soccer, basketball, volleyball and cross country.”

Ethan: What do you do to prepare for a game? Do you have any pregame routines?

Abby: “Normally I’ll grab something light on my stomach to eat and then I’ll warm up and stretch before the game.”

Ethan: So, do you have a favorite pregame meal you like to eat?

Abby: “Uh, no, not really”

Ethan: What music do you like to listen to?

Abby: “Just something upbeat to get my energy up before a game.”

Ethan: What is the biggest lesson you learned while playing sports at Oconee Christian?

Abby: “That you have to be willing to work together for the team, because teamwork is an essential part of sports and ultimately it will help you out in life.”

Ethan: What is your favorite memory of playing sports at OCA?

Abby: “Oh, that’s hard. I think it would probably be at one of my cross country meets in 7 th grade I believe. I had just gotten my personal record at a meet, it was actually at SWU and Coach Bob was at the line cheering me on and when I crossed the line he just came and hugged me and said he was really, really, proud of me. I think that was my favorite memory of sports at OCA.

Ethan: Do you have a favorite quote:

Abby: “Our Cross Country quote was ‘Our sport is your sports punishment.’ That was pretty great.”

Ethan: What is your favorite Bible verse?

Abby: “Romans 16:20 and it says: “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet, may the grace of our Lord be with you.”
Ethan: So Alex, what sports have you played while at Oconee Christian Academy?

Alex: “I've played baseball and cross country”

Ethan: What do you do to prepare for a game? Do you have any pregame routines?

Alex: “Stretch…that’s pretty much it. I usually stretch for about 10-15 minutes before a game.”

Ethan: So, do you have a favorite pregame meal you like to eat?

Alex: “Subway. Because it’s not really fattening or anything.”

Ethan: “What music do you like to listen to?”

Alex: “Country.”

Ethan: What is the biggest lesson you learned while playing sports at OCA?

Alex: “You can’t win without a team. There is no “I” in team.”

Ethan: What is your favorite memory of playing sports at Oconee Christian?

Alex: “Probably hitting my first home run in baseball.”

Ethan: Who were you playing against?

Alex: Fountain Inn.

Ethan: What is your favorite quote?

Alex: “I don’t really have one.”

Ethan: What are your plans after graduation?

Alex: “I plan on attending Tri-County Tech.”

Ethan: Do you know what you are majoring in?

Alex: “Not yet.”
