CELEBRATING BETH EL
Volunteers and staff at Beth El Synagogue have been collecting interesting data on our synagogue's life and history for decades. Historians in our community have been amassing data on the Northside and migration from there as well. We have now received two Legacy Grants from the Minnesota Historical Society to organize and prepare for a stunning and living permanent exhibit. We will need to apply for two more grants and plan on completion in about 2020, just a few years before our 100th anniversary!

We have wonderful interviews, old play scripts, objects, art, records, tapes, Shofars since 1930, speeches, Aleph Preschool t shirts, minutes from early meetings, sermons, letters, books, religious items, ritual objects and every other kind of source material one could imagine. These resources and the stories that accompany them help trace the journey that is Beth El.

At this time we want to invite you, the Beth El family, to continue to send us memories and memorable objects that you might want to share with the congregation. If you cannot part with an item, it can be photographed or scanned. Short interesting stories that accompany the objects are very welcome as well.

Please contact Linda Goldberg at 952.873.7302 or [email protected] or Bonnie Heller at [email protected].

The Yad V'lev committee will add you to our volunteers and contact you with details.

We appreciate your willingness to help!
