Shanon Doolittle will be back in Whatcom County to share:
"How to Use Creativity to Improve the Donor Experience" on April 18!

Shanon Doolittle

Thursday, April 18
11:30 - 1:30
Bellingham Golf and Country Club

Joy. Surprise. Delight. As fundraisers, it's our privilege to create moments of happiness for our donors each time we interact with them. So imagine you're asked to make a list of a dozen new ways to do just that. Are you madly scribbling, uncomfortably sweating, or doing a little of both? No matter your reaction, creating fresh and fun new ways to bring joy to donors' lives is no easy task. But it's one worth during, and regularly, if you aspire to build the kind of donor relationships that a last a lifetime.

Shanon Doolittle is a Born Do-Gooder, High-Fiving Fundraising Coach & Girl On A Mission to Spread Donor Happiness. Shanon helps non-profiteers and world-changers take better care of themselves and their donors with creative stewardship plans and donor thank you campaigns that put the FUN back in fundraising. (Cue the confetti!) If you've got donors dropping like flies, it's time to point more appreciation their way. They're humans too, and just like you they want to be showered with recognition for their good deeds and trust in you that their contributions are leaving a T-Rex imprint on the causes they rally behind.

The Igniting Philanthropy Series is sponsored by the Whatcom Center for Philanthropy and United Way of Skagit County

Whatcom County Nonprofits Presents Nonprofit Brownbags 2019

Next Brown Bag:  April 24th 11:30-1pm
We need to talk ... Building healthy Board/ED relationships in small nonprofits.
With Kirk Roberts, Free Range Nonprofit Solutions
St. Luke's Community Health Education Center
3333 Squalicum Pkwy, Bellingham, WA 98225

In small nonprofits, the lines between working Boards and minimal staff are often blurred. How can we navigate the tension between governance and operations when resources are sparse and duties often overlap? As with any relationship, the keys are respect, communication, and care. Let's talk about ways to build healthy relationships so we can focus on the mission, not the conflict.

Kirk Roberts is co-owner of Free Range Nonprofit Solutions in Bellingham, where he serves as Executive Director for three nonprofits and helps various organizations build capacity. Kirk has served as an ED for nearly 20 years and has worked in the nonprofit community longer than he would care to remember.

Lecture Room at the Central Library

What do you care about? Libraries can help. Join us to talk about your aspirations for our community and how we can work together to strengthen it. We are hosting meetings this spring as part of planning for the library's future. Each 90-minute group "Community Conversation" is a chance for us to better understand people's hopes for their community, the concerns they have, and what they believe might make a difference. Our goal is to gather public knowledge, then determine where the library can help, as part of our strategic plan. Please join us for a conversation -- this is a rewarding way to meet other community members and contribute your ideas. More details about the project at bellinghampubliclibrary.org . For questions about these meetings, contact Janice Keller, 360-778-7206 or [email protected]
