Board Discussions
HTK Architects Update:
Zach Snethen with HTK Architects provided updates and recent refinements to the district needs assessment. HTK Architects and district leadership conducted walk-throughs in all schools during the past three weeks. The information gathered will provide additional clarity of building priorities and changes needed to make the best use of resources for each school. Snethen provided a review of each building and how to best accommodate changes to address academic growth as well as safety and security opportunities. In addition, board members were able to ask questions and discuss concerns during the review. The next steps include HTK staff providing strategies and schedules for stakeholder communication and refining dollar amounts for a potential bond election.

Secure Entries Update:
Kelly Bolin, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, updated the board on progress being made toward securing building entrances. The district is using the funding from KSDE's Safe and Secure Schools grant to begin implementing mechanisms and developing procedures to allow the front doors of our buildings to be locked while classes are in session.  Click here for Securing Entryways frequently asked questions
