The Need for Marine Life Protection Highlighted at DEMA Dive in Day
On March 20th, DEMA met with Florida Legislators to discuss several bills proposed that, if enacted, would help protect marine life in the state of Florida. The meetings were part of DEMA's annual Dive In Day at the Capitol, an annual event showcasing recreational diving's importance to Florida's economy by encouraging DEMA Members to exhibit inside the Tallahassee Florida Capitol building entrance hall and to speak with Florida lawmakers.

Help Build DEMA-Sponsored Education Program for DEMA Show 2019: Volunteer Today!
DEMA is seeking DEMA Member retailers as volunteers to help create an extraordinary education program for DEMA Show 2019. Peer Reviewers will help DEMA determine if proposed educational programming is relevant to the current needs of the dive retailer, and whether the proposed program makes difficult or complex topics easy to understand and useful for those in the business of diving.
DEMA is now accepting nominations for the prestigious Reaching Out Award. Since 1989, the Reaching Out Award has been presented to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the sport of diving by "reaching out" in some special way to improve the sport for everyone.
The deadline for online submissions is 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, May 31, 2019.
