FAFSA SUPPORT
Let DCAN help lighten your FAFSA load!
FAFSA Campaign Support

Counselors can use this form link to request support with carrying out your FAFSA event, campaign or initiatives. 
Student Support

DCAN is offering one-on-one student support with the FAFSA application!

Your students fill out the request form and a DCAN team member will reach out to them to set up a 45-minute session to complete their FAFSA.

DCAN and Get Schooled Detroit College Challenge

DCAN and Get Schooled are teaming up again for the 2020-2021 school year!

Get Schooled is a free, digital college and job advisor that helps young people get a college degree, find first jobs and succeed at both.

This year we will be running the Detroit College Challenge again, with a few differences:

  • School facilitator and student incentives, resources and bundles remain
  • Mini challenges each month
  • Moving forward, badges to complete and grant money are unfortunately being removed

Get Schooled Essay Contest—call all your seniors!

Have your seniors submit their college application essays to Get Schooled to receive suggestions, edits and feedback from a professional.

Everyone who submits an essay in the month of November will be entered in to win a $20 gift card—one winner will be chosen each week!

Class of 2021: School Incentive Opportunity

The Detroit Promise is providing incentives to schools who sign up and support their students with Promise registration and FAFSA. 

  1. Complete your incentive registration form HERE.  
  2. Complete the ACH form HERE
  3. Earn $200 each time you get your school to a milestone by the deadline.

2020 Metro Detroit College Access and Success Summit: Nov. 10 & 12

We're doing things a little different this year! The event will be held virtually over the course of two days instead of one.

Dates: Nov. 10 & 12
Time: 9 to 11:30 a.m. 
 
SCECH credits will be provided. If you can only make it one day or the other, that is okay! The agenda and breakouts will be sent out prior to the event. Further instructions on zoom details will be provided after you register via email.
STRATEGIC COMMUNITY PARTNERS LISTENING SESSIONS
Your voice is needed!
Strategic Community Partners is facilitating a feasibility study on creating a transformative college access and success center in Detroit. This center would support youth and adults, alike, in gaining access to support, resources to colleges and universities via this center. As we take a local look, your voice as a member of the Detroit community is vital.

Sign-up now to participate in a listening session the week of November 9-12th, as we host various group sessions to hear from you. 

The following options are available:
●     Higher education staff/administrator, Nov. 9 (5:30-7 p.m.)
●     Community based organization staff, Nov. 10 (5:30-7 p.m.)
●     High school (junior/senior) or college student, Nov. 11 (4:30-6 p.m.)
