Children, Youth, and Families
During Worship:
Children and Youth will remain in the service.
Children may join us in the Worship Center or sit towards the front where it’s easier for your children to see what is going on. Children learn liturgical behavior by modeling, so feel free to explain the parts of the service to them, letting them know when it is time to sit quietly and when they should participate enthusiastically! You can help them follow where we are in the order of worship. If you have to step out with your child, please feel free to; there is a small room in the main entrance of the sanctuary. But do come back. We love to see all ages worshiping together!

Music Notes: We celebrate a new calendar year by centering our music around one of the oldest forms of American music, the spiritual. Rooted in oral tradition, Rise Up, Shepherd, and Follow, was passed along through song first, and notation later. The Chancel Choir will issue an opening call that will, hopefully, be followed by a hearty congregational response. Pennsylvania-born musician Harry Burleigh (1866-1949) originally set Behold that Star as a vocal solo. Burleigh’s setting of this Epiphany carol reminds us to focus our gaze on the unifying love of the Christ-child, every day of the year.

Congratulations to the Fakan Family. Ella Louise Fakan was born on December 12, 2018. She weighed in at 9 lbs and 3 oz. Ella is the daughter of Megan and Ean Fakan, the granddaughter of Rick and Sandy Ammon, and the great-granddaughter of Sylvia Clapp.
