Dear CGS Family —

Make plans now! Let's gather — either in person in our sanctuary, or from our homes via live-stream — for a time of Word, reflection, and Communion on Christmas Eve! As has been the case with many of our worship and gathering rhythms this calendar year, Christmas Eve at CGS will have a different — but we trust precious and beautiful — cadence this holiday season. Our brief service will begin promptly at 5:00pm and is deliberately intended to be approachable for a broad spectrum of CGS members, including families with young children. Please sign up here to attend the in-person Christmas Eve Communion Service.

We do recognize that many — perhaps a majority — of us have personal or extended family health considerations that preclude large in-person gatherings. We are sensitive to this reality, and warmly offer participation via the livestream: join with us from your homes for a few sweet, soft carols and for Pastor Chuck’s Christmas homily.

Additionally, Pastor Chris will host a Communion opportunity the subsequent Wednesday evening (December 30, at 5:00pm) for those who do not feel it prudent to attend the larger Christmas Eve gathering. This service will be limited to 50 persons or less, but will offer a similar opportunity to share in simple, sweet carols and a seasonal homily (you may sign up here).

Whatever your personal constraints this Christmas season, we encourage you to join with your CGS family by means of one of the “gathering” provisions above. There is undeniable pain woven into our daily lives in this broken world, and much of this pain seems accentuated at Christmas, irrespective of pandemics. But even our present pain serves to bear witness to the eternal Hope that became Incarnate on that first Christmas. And because of His incarnation, we find Joy even amidst sorrow...

Godspeed —
