Buffelgrass invasion thwarted!
Banner Construction Team
Jefferson Park is indebted to all the volunteers: neighbors, Banner, Stark and Sturgeon Construction, Sundt Construction, and UA International Club who stalked the buffelgrass on Saturday, March 16th.

Over 19 extra large bags of buffelgrass were captured from our alleys. We will keep watch to make sure the plants don't come back. Special thanks to Lisa Jones, Erin Posthumus, and Mark Ostrand of Banner who did the organizing.
Hint -  The ground was still damp from the recent rains making the buffel-pull a little easier.  Pull your yard weeds soon as it is predicted to be a very bad pollen season causing havoc with asthmatics and those with allergies. If you get 'em before they go to seed, maybe you won't have as many next year.
Neighbor, Erin, gives pre-pulling talk.

Volunteers gather to learn how to identify the nasty invasive weed.
Neighbor, Nina nabs the buffelgrass.

Photo Challenge - 2020 calendar
2019 African Daisies
Our 2019 calendar sold out.  Jefferson Park shared the calendar with city staff, many neighbors and other neighborhoods.  The 2019 calendar featured historic images and photos from former Jefferson Park home tours.

Spring is here and the Friends of Jefferson Park would like to begin to collect photos for the 2020 calendar.  If you have a lovely entrance, a garden of which you are proud, a water feature that is iconic etc. Maybe your whole house! Please share it with the Calendar committee.  Photos from cameras work fine.

E-mail your pictures to [email protected]. We will begin collecting the images.  Know that by e-mailing an image you are giving permission to print it.  Please add your contact information.  There will be no identifying names, address etc. in the calendar--just beautiful images of the neighborhood.  Hey, did anyone get a good picture of the snow!!  That might be interesting!  Can you beat these African daisies?
Banner Hospital patients who wander...
There have been reports of patients leaving the Banner property and short-cutting through the neighborhood.  These folks are in various states of health.  Patients on foot are not good for Banner, not good for the neighborhood, and not good for the patients.
Call Banner Security 520-694-6533 if you witness any patients or find any tossed bandages etc.
If the situation warrants, call 911 BUT ALSO call Banner Security so it can be recorded.
We appreciate Banner's willingness to be pro-active, and neighbors must be diligent about reporting occurrences.
