2019 International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI)
 Call for Papers

The IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI) is a scientific conference dedicated to mathematical, algorithmic, and computational aspects of biological and biomedical imaging, across all scales of observation. It fosters knowledge transfer among different imaging communities and contributes to an integrative approach to biomedical imaging. ISBI is a joint initiative from the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) and the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS). The 2019 meeting will be held in Venice, Italy and will include tutorials, challenges and a scientific program composed of plenary talks, invited special sessions, as well as oral and poster presentations of peer-reviewed papers.

Physiological Sensing Now Open to the World
NEW RESOURCES ARE ALLOWING US TO LEARN, EXPERIMENT, AND CREATE IMAGINATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS.

With the advent of low-cost computing platforms, such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi, it has become clear that lowering the cost barrier and shortening the learning curve, with the backing of a motivated community, would play a transformational role in the way people learn, experiment, and create imaginative solutions to outstanding problems that can benefit from embedded systems. Within biomedical engineering, physiological sensing is following a similar path, with the added value of low-cost and open-source tools that policymakers and practitioners across different sectors as well as the general public find increasingly useful
