Andy's Unity Park Opens June 2
Andy's Unity Park: Created by Community
Andy's Unity Park
Join us Saturday, June 2, to dedicate Andy's Unity Park and celebrate the community spirit that transformed a site of tragedy into a space to play, garden, gather, and remember. The afternoon's activities include prayer, reflection, music, art, food, dancers, drummers, games, crafts, yoga, skateboarding demonstrations, and booths hosted by local groups. Designed by residents, Andy's Unity Park is a testament to a neighborhood's vision and perseverance.

What Are Your Ideas for Veterans Memorial Beach?
Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach
What if Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach had a launch for kayaks and paddleboards? How about an easier way to get boats around the summer dam? Does it need a playground? New picnic areas? These are some of the possibilities we'll consider as we plan for the park's future. Share your ideas at a June 7 workshop or through this online survey .

Bounce into Summer at Spring Lake
Big summer fun is underway at Spring Lake's Water Park, where the swimming lagoon's inflatable, floating playground is open daily for kids 6 and older. Come for a day or buy a season pass. Lifeguarded swimming, boat rentals, and the Otter Cafe are open too!

Join Us for Funky Fridays at Hood House
Start the weekend off right with Funky Fridays, the summertime concert series at historic Hood House. The weekly music starts  Friday, June 1, with blues guitarist Levi Lloyd. Bring your lawn chair and your best dance moves and help benefit fire recovery and other Sonoma Valley park projects .

Thanks For the New Trail, Volunteers!
We owe a big thank you to Volunteers for Outdoor California for sweating it out on Hood Mountain's burned slopes. About 70 members of the trailbuilding group, which  consists of volunteers from all over the Bay Area and all walks of life, spent a recent weekend swinging pickaxes and wrestling stumps to lay a new section of Nattkemper Trail.
