Holy Week 2020

Ministries within the Presbytery of the Miami Valley are collaborating to provide devotional material for each day of Holy Week. Please feel free to share this material with others.

Wednesday

Scripture: Hebrews 12:1-3

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such hostility against himself from sinners, so that you may not grow weary or lose heart.

Reflection

Today's reflection is from the Rev. Garth Adams, chaplain for the Kettering Health Center.

Prayer: Inspired by Psalm 70

Hurry, God, to deliver me; hurry, Lord, to help me! Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you, and let those who love your saving help say again and again: "God is great!" But me? I'm poor and needy. Hurry to me, God! You are my helper and my deliverer. Amen.

Pastors and congregations are invited to share this with your members. Please feel free to reformat to fit your own communications method.
