Mediterranean Diet
In honor of May's National Mediterranean Diet Month, we're recognizing some of the important health benefits of the Mediterranean Diet - a healthy eating style that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes, and less meat. It's linked to a lower risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes, and may help prevent certain types of cancer, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's disease.
From our Dietitians:
Mediterranean Diet Quick Tips
#1
Only use olive oil and canola oil for cooking
#2
Choose fresh or frozen fruit for dessert
#3
Season your dishes with garlic and herbs instead of salt whenever possible
#4
Enjoy red wine with dinner in reasonable amounts
