March 24, 2019 ~ Building Community One Positive Story at a Time
Michael Jones, son of George and Rochelle Jones of West Bridgewater, has achieved Boy Scouting’s highest rank, that of Eagle Scout. Mike held numerous leadership positions including Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. He earned 38 merit badges as well as membership in Scouting’s National Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow. Mike played center for West Bridgewater’s 2019 Division 8 South Championship football team. He volunteered over 200 hours of community service including time as a Den Chief for Cub Scout Pack 23 and as an acolyte and chalice bearer at Trinity Episcopal Church, Bridgewater. For his Eagle project, he organized, planned and carried out the building of a wiffle ball park which included installing fencing, bases, pitcher’s mound, home plate and foul poles at the West Bridgewater Middle-Senior High School, where his Eagle Court of Honor will be held. Mike is a member of West Bridgewater Troop 25, sponsored by St. Ann’s Church under the leadership of Scoutmasters Al Williams, Allen Roberts and most recently, Bob Vinskus. Congratulations, Michael!

2018 Prophett Funeral Home Striped Bass Contest Winner Matt Sass of WB!
This contest went all summer long with folks sending in their pix and measurements to Prophett. The one $500 prize - 250 to Matt and 250 to the charity of his choice was given out on March 7, 2019. The only participation requirement is that the person fishing must live in one of the Bridgewaters or Raynham.
From Matt:
"This fish was caught at the Cape Cod Canal in in mid August on a 9” sebile magic swimmer. I measured several fish for the Prophett Chapman Cole and Gleason Funereal Home contest and this was the biggest taping out at over 47 inches.
The charity I chose to give the money towards was the Cam Neely Foundation. Last month my grandmother lost her battle to cancer at Tufts medical center. She was surrounded by loved ones around the clock while she was there thanks to the Cam Neely House. Cam Neely opened a wing of the hospital as a home away from home for the cancer patients families while the stay with loved ones right down the hall instead of having to travel in and out of Boston or pay for nearby hotel rooms. It was touching to see that someone who could make a difference did out of the goodness of his heart after losing both of his own parents to cancer. My grandmother asked donations at her service be given to the Cam Neely Foundation so I instantly knew if I was lucky enough to win the contest, that it was the one I wanted to donate to. Thank you for the opportunity."

Choices

“Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.”
~ Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

"I think most of us are raised with preconceived notions of the choices we're supposed to make. We waste so much time making decisions based on someone else's idea of our happiness - what will make you a good citizen or a good wife or daughter or actress. Nobody says, 'Just be happy - go be a cobbler or go live with goats.' "
~ Sandra Bullock

"A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results." ~ Wade Boggs
It's all about what we do with our time. What we say and how we say it; what we do and how we do it.

The Power of Positive changes lives.
