Ed Lodi Returns to Talk About His New Book, Benjamin Church in King William's War
Local author Ed Lodi will be speaking
about his new book,
Benjamin Church in King William's
War, on Wed., April 10 at 4:00 p.m.
King William's War (1689-1697) was the first in the series of bloody conflicts known collectively as the French and Indian Wars, in which England and France, with their Indian allies, vied for control of North America. Although best known for his heroic exploits in the earlier King Philip's War, Benjamin Church led five expeditions against the French and Indians into northern New England and New France. Lodi will recount the story of those expeditions, for which Church became famous as the forefather of the Rangers.
The scope of King William's War was immense. Lodi will also talk about Hannah Dustan, the first woman in America to have a statue erected in her honor; the infamous raid against Schenectady, NY; and many other topics related to the war.
He welcomes questions from the audience. A book signing will follow.

free and open to the public, thanks to the support of the Friends of the Middleborough Public Library.

Touch Tanks with the New England Aquarium
Drop in for a chance to learn about ocean animals and touch real sea creatures during a Tidepool Open House. The New England Aquarium brings 3-4 tanks representing different habitats. Stop by to learn from educators who will be on site to inspire the marine biologist in everyone! Open to all ages.

Blue Hills Trailside Museum brings Nature Tales: Owl Program

Candy Bar/Book Animal BINGO
Kids of all ages can bring an unopened candy item and/or a gently used book to play a game of Animal BINGO. The number of items you bring is the number of times you can win. Win a treat and stay for the movie. No registration is required.

Movie Matinee- Peter Rabbit
Come early to play BINGO and stay for a movie. Peter Rabbit hops onto the Library's big screen. This film is rated PG. All ages welcome. No registration required.

Mondays from 4:00 - 6:20 p.m. Reading to Miss Marilyn's Spaniels. Sign up for a 20-minute time slot and read to a therapy dog in a relaxed and non-judgmental setting. Call or stop by the Library to register.
Please note -- Sessions will be available April 1 and April 8 ONLY this month, after which the program will be on hiatus until our Summer Reading Program starts again.

Edaville Family Theme Park has changed the way their library pass program works for the 2019 season. E
ach household may now reserve one pass per day, good for one free admission. (Special events require an additional fee.) You must be a resident of Middleborough to use this pass.
