Final Instructions: Flying Fur Fun Run

Please read these instructions completely and carefully. They contain information about all of our Saturday events, including parking and the race course. Share this with your family and friends who will be waiting for you at the finish line area.

Be sure to download the Flying Pig Marathon Events app, sponsored by TQL, available on your  Apple or  Android device. This will be a great tool to use throughout the weekend for information on race schedules, participant tracking, getting around and more!

Packet Pickup:
For Flying Fur Dog Run participants, we strongly encourage packet pick-up at the expo on Friday, May 4, however, on-site packet pick-up will be available on Saturday. Someone else can pickup your packet for you at the expo with the Packet Pickup Authorization Form.

If you are picking up your packet on Saturday, the packets will only be available at the East Plaza Level of Paul Brown Stadium starting at 6:30 a.m. until the start of the race at 1:30 p.m. Packets will not be available for pickup at the expo on Saturday.

At the Expo:
The P&G Health and Fitness Expo will again fill all three halls of the Duke Energy Center! When you enter the convention center, you'll be able to pick up your packet, visit our vendors and charity partners and collect your race premium items (including a bag dispenser, courtesy of Invisible Fence!).  The Duke Energy Center is located at 525 Elm St., Cincinnati, OH 45202. The expo is open from 12-7 p.m. on Friday, May 4 and 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 (packet pickup available on Friday only)

Saturday's Final Instructions:
The Flying Fur starts at 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of  Mehring Way and Elm Street.
There is no baggage check for any Saturday events. Do not plan on stashing an extra shirt under a bench or behind a tree - it will be immediately discarded.

On the Course
Please be sure to clean up after your pet. There will be water for humans and canines at approximately the halfway point of the two-mile course. Additional water stops for the dogs will be placed at the start and finish line areas.

All dogs must remain on a leash at all times. Leashes may not be retractable.

Don't forget to wear your bib proudly!

Many of our volunteers for the Flying Fur event are from the SPCA and can assist dogs that may need medical treatment. Additionally, we will have a veterinarian on site as our canine medical director.

Receiving Your Finisher Awards
At the finish of the Flying Fur, you will be awarded your finisher's medal.  Each participant finisher's medal will have a dog tag charm affixed to the medal, which can be attached to a collar.
There will also be special awards for the top three overall finishers.

Safety and Security
The Flying Pig staff continues to work with our police and fire departments, EMTs and first responders as safety and security are our priorities for all Flying Pig events. You will see uniformed personnel, including tactical units, and working dogs Friday, Saturday and Sunday. These are all planned elements of our security plan. We ask for your cooperation to make their jobs as seamless as possible this weekend. Please follow their directions at the event venues and surrounding areas.

Parking
Parking Saturday morning will be available in Lot E, Lot B, the Central Riverfront Garage (Race St. entrance recommended) and the Queen City Square Garage (entrances on Sycamore, Broadway, and 4th Street). Parking will also be available in several garages throughout downtown Cincinnati. Streets will begin closing at approximately 7:30am for the start of our races.  Please have money ready to expedite entrance into the lots. Complete directions and parking plans are available on our website.

Thanks to the management of Longworth Hall, free parking is available to those who carpool on Saturday. The lot will open at 6am. Please note that due to the 10K race, the entrance to the lot will not be available 7:30am-8:30am.  Parking in this lot is permit only. You can pick up your permit at the P&G Health and Fitness Expo.
