Pocahontas Hospital Becomes St. Bernards Five Rivers

St. Bernards Healthcare celebrated the official leasing of Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas, renaming the facility St. Bernards Five Rivers.

The lease agreement, which took effect on February 25, means St. Bernards will manage the hospital while allowing the city of Pocahontas to retain ownership of the facility.

"We look forward to advancing the care offered at St. Bernards Five Rivers," said Chris Barber, president and CEO of St. Bernards Healthcare. "Working together, we are able to build something bigger and better than two organizations working independently."

Construction Update on New St. Bernards Tower
Construction on the St. Bernards new surgical and intensive care tower continues! The tower features four stories and will serve as a hub for surgical and intensive care services at the hospital.

Some of the new and exciting features which the tower will add to the hospital include 14 state-of-the-art surgical suites, as well as 40 ICU, PACU, and Pre-Op units.

At its tallest point, the tower stands 88 feet tall and constructed with 3,000 tons of structural steel. Most of the steel from the project was sourced locally from Nucor in Blytheville.
