Warbles from your Senior Warden

Easter is almost here. Holy Week is a time to reflect on the sacrifices that Jesus made for us.   Then He Is Risen!! We bring light into a dark world. And we rejoice.

I know that many of you have taken on community service or some task for Lent instead of giving up something. I invite you to continue these tasks during the Easter season. You will, if you have not already, find this transforming. If you have given something up, I invite you to recall and give thanks when you indulge. You will also find this to change and enhance how you view chocolate (or whatever ...)

Easter is transformative - that is why we often see butterflies in Easter pictures. St. Stephen's is also transforming - we are beginning a New Chapter. This is a time for reflection as we move forward. We are opening up from our chrysalis, flapping our wings, and getting ready to fly. As we go through this process, we will see things in a different light. We may notice things that we had not noticed before. We will grow together, worship together, and rejoice together.

I am really looking forward to this time with all of you.

Easter blessings on our St. Stephen's family!

Flowering of the Crosses

One of our many beloved Easter traditions is the flowering of the crosses by the children.  Please bring in flowers for the children.  Altar guild will be supplying some flowers, but a fresh variety is welcome.  Thank you!

Pastoral Care Need
Our good friend and St. Stephen's family member Jim Glancey could use your support. He has gangrene and is in a lot of pain. He is at home and would welcome a phone call, visit, or card. We have offered to provide a few meals and Jim will let Dottie Chin know what meals would be best. If you are interested in providing a meal, please contact Dottie Chin.
Gift Card Update
Thank you to everyone who participated in the gift card program this month.  You earned $142.00 for St. Stephen's without any extra work.
Give yourselves a pat on the back.  The next order is due on April 15th

Museum Field Trip
The next trip will be to Carmel on Friday April 20th.  We will be viewing Gallery 21 featuring Eyvind Earle plus lunch.  Plan on departing St. Stephen's parking lot at 10 am.

Bible Study at St. Stephen's
by Edy Unthank

O
ur next bible study session will be "Meet the Disciples." Why did Jesus choose the 12? What did he see in them specifically? He did not invite 2 or 3. He did not invite 150 - he invited these specific 12 men.

Join us for a 5 week session beginning April 10. This is similar to the What a Gift! Study we had during Advent. Copies will be available for $5 on Sunday, April 8 for use in small groups or with family.

What can you teach?
There is an effort to reach out to the St. Stephen's community by offering a summer camp this year. The plan is to offer enrichment sessions to children from the ages of 5 to 12.  Please tell us if you have a passion to teach any art or crafts, sing, music, sports, building, or helping kinders to improve their reading, cooking, stand on your head and rub your tummy.....ok maybe not that one, but you get the idea.
We are looking for teachers and helpers.  Let Ann Little, Monica Moniz or Janet Thorsrud know if you are interested.  We are in the plansning stage now and need to wrap it up soon.  Reach out to us and let us know.
