Open House for Volunteer's Friday, April 12 from 3:00 - 5:30 pm at the Extension Office . Refreshments will be served.

3rd - 6th graders SW MN 4-H Camp at Lake Shetek Registration is now open!

County road ditch miles

Time to make Jackson County Road Ditches Clean again! Maps have been sent to club leaders to distribute to members. Walk your miles by May 30. Leaders need to return map of miles walked by June 14 to Melonie at the Extension office. Have fun and walk carefully.

Apply for an Activity Fund Request to help pay for the 4-H events of summer!

Flower barrel contest

In trying to beautify Olson Pavilion, each club is invited to plant a barrel using a "patriotic' theme. This does not replace the 4-H project area of flower box. The public will vote on the best barrel and winning club will be announced during the Premier Show.

Horse PDC invites everyone to the new member night on April 11 at 6 pm at the MPB-Lakefield!  
 
Come and learn about tack, what the Horse PDC is all about and more!

Foodstand Committee Meeting will be April 8 at 6 pm at the Extension Office conference room. 
 
Agronomy Kits will arrive late March early April at the Extension office. Thank you to those that have stopped to pay for your kit. If you haven't you may pay when you pick up your kit(s). Anne will send out an email when kits are available for pick up!

As the May 15th Animal ID deadline slowly approaches, don't forget your ear tags and leg bands! Large and Small ear tags are available for $1.50 each and leg bands (free!) are available here at the Extension Office. 
 
4-H State Director Jennifer Skuza offers tips for building critical interpersonal skills into club meetings and other 4-H learning experiences. There are ideas you could use today!
 
Team registrations are now open for the 2019 Minnesota 4-H Engineering Design Challenge! The challenge is designed for youth in grades 3 - 12 and provides an opportunity for youth to problem solve while using their imaginations, working with others and having a fun experience!
 
Register by May 10 for the state leadership conference, Youth Exploring Leadership and Learning Out loud! (YELLO!). This annual event will take place June 11-14 in St. Paul and is open to youth participants in grades 6+.
 
Youth currently in grades 10-12 are invited to apply for the 2019-2020 Minnesota 4-H State Ambassador team! Applications are due May 17.
 
Throughout the month of April, 4-H'ers across the country will be engaged in service as part of the True Leaders in Service challenge! The Minnesota 4-H State Ambassadors challenge all Minnesota 4-H'ers to join this national movement!
 
During National Volunteer Week, April 7-13, we recognize and thank the hard-working volunteers who support youth in developing their passion and key life skills.
 
From now through April 30, 4-H and JOANN fabrics have an in-store partnership. There are three ways to join in on the fun.
 
Spring Paper Clover at Tractor Supply Company is here March 27 - April 7!
 
Minnesota 4-H allows the leasing of animal science projects to ensure that all members have the opportunity to experience the showing of livestock projects. Animal science lease information has been updated for 2019 and is available on our website.
 
Youth have the opportunity to complete general exhibits that are ready for the county fair during Project Day Spotlight! Project Day Spotlight is scheduled for Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Windom MS/HS. Register early as some sessions have caps!
 
 A 4-H Crop Scouting event will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019 in rural Benson for youth in grades 7-12 
 
Check out all of the exciting things that have been happening and are coming up with the 4-H Agronomy Program!
 
Join us at the Murray County Fairgrounds on April 27th for a Rabbit Fun Show.  Registration begins at 10 am. Workshops, showmanship classes and show classes and contests.
