Lady Needs Your Help!
Lady, a four month old Pitbull puppy, came into our care at HSLM this past June. Upon her arrival, Lady was seen by a veterinarian who determined that she had a shoulder injury and dry skin. This sweet and lovable puppy was finally in an environment where she would be properly cared for and cherished inside the shelter.

Due to Bill 132 within the Dog Owners' Liability Act (DOLA) banning the ownership of Pitbull's in Ontario (with the exception of those already owned at the time), Lady would eventually need to be transferred to a province within Canada that does not enforce this specific breed ban.
Over the next few months, the HSLM team grew to learn what a curious, playful and absolutely sweet dog Lady is. Staff and volunteers have all grown to love this incredible girl.

The time for Lady to move on to the next chapter of her life has finally arrived; she will soon be travelling out of province. Although the HSLM team will miss her, we are excited for her to be able to join the loving home in which she deserves.

HSLM is not funded by the government. Please make a donation to help cover the costs incurred by the long-term care we have provided this innocent girl along with the transportation fees in order to ensure she can live her life with a loving family where she will not be judged by her breed.
