Happy Earth Month!

Since 1970, April 22 has been recognized as Earth Day. Over the past 48 years, activities have grown such that April is now celebrated as Earth Month. Join Essex Region Conservation and the Detroit River Canadian Cleanup on April 22 from 10am - 12noon at our annual Earth Day Tree Planting Event located at Wyandotte and Florence off the Ganatchio Trail. Help plant more than 2,000 trees to celebrate Earth Day. Park at Sandpoint Beach and take the free Transit Windsor shuttle.

New Shorter Option for SCAR 2018

Essex Region Conservation and the Rotary Club of Windsor-St.Clair are excited to announce a short course option for the South Coast Adventure Race 2018. This annual event challenges racers to trek, cycle, paddle, and orienteer their way across the region.

While we will continue to offer our tradition 5 - 8 hour race, for those who would like to experience all of the adventure over a shorter distance, race directors are offering a 3 - 4 hour course option as well. Learn more about the  SCAR Adventure Race.
30th Anniversary Golf Tournament

Essex Region Conservation will host its 30th Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Thursday, July 12 at Pointe West Golf Club. Funds raised support conservation efforts in the Place for Life. To date, funds from this tournament have helped to protect significant natural areas like the Spring Garden Natural Area and Cedar Creek, and have supported trail development across the region. New website improves customer service

As part of Earth Month 2018, Essex Region Conservation has launched their new website. With improved functionality and a focus on customer experience, the website now allows teachers to book education programs and customers to submit permit applications online. It also provides enhanced information about trails, conservation areas and amenities. As well, in the face of a changing climate and a higher than normal number of flood watches and advisories, a new tool for public notification has been incorporated. Explore www.essexregionconservation.ca to see all of our new features.
