Admissions & Records Reminders
Registration Reminders for Spring 2018
Registration appointments have been placed on your WebAdvisor account. For students with group 1 priority, registration begins on November 20. Please check "My Priority Registration Appointment" in WebAdvisor for the date and time that you can begin to register. For best selection of classes, it is recommended you register on your registration date.
Students who are on second semester probation or dismissal, or have over 100 degree-applicable units will receive a lower registration priority date. Students who qualify may file a
Registration Appointment and BOGW Appeal. Please see instructions on the form.
Graduation Notification
Students who have applied for Fall 2017 graduation will receive notification of their status by November 15 in an email that will be sent to their InSite email accounts. If you have questions, please contact Admissions & Records at (925) 473-7500.
Students who plan to graduate in Spring 2018 can apply once they register for spring classes.The deadline for spring graduation is March 1, 2018. Please see your counselor to make sure you are on track.

FINANCIAL AID TIPS & INFO
The 2018-2019 FAFSA launched on October 1st
Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible to maximize the amount of financial aid you receive.
The 2018-
2019
FAFSA requires 2016 income and tax information.
If you have already filed your 2016 taxes, you can transfer your tax information directly into the FAFSA form using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (IRS DRT). If you're eligible, this is the fastest, most accurate way to input your tax return information.
Announcing the NEW Community College Completion Grant (CCCG)
The Community College Completion Grant (CCCG) is a financial aid award designed to encourage faster completion of degrees or certificates. The CCCG is for students attending at least 15 units per semester.
Students must be eligible for the Full Time Student Success Grant (FTSSG) and have a comprehensive education plan to be eligible.
The Financial Aid Office will determine eligibility soon. Stay tuned.

The Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOGW) will soon be renamed the California College Promise Grant. The fee waiver program, including the application process and eligibility requirements, will remain the same.
Take Charge of Your Finances
Throughout your college journey, it's important to understand how money really works. Now is a great time to learn about making money, managing money, saving money - and how to make informed decisions about money. To help you manage your finances, the California Community Colleges system offers a free tool called
CashCourse. The CashCourse resources will test your knowledge regarding your
Financial Wellness and give you insight on topics that you can explore like budgeting, credit, and paying for school.

TEDx LOS MEDANOS COLLEGE
The Future of Everything TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. On November 14, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Los Medanos College will hold its very own TEDx event in the Recital Hall, Room MU-720. The live presenters, many who have ties to LMC, will speak on a variety of topics that will, no doubt, spark deep discussion and connection.

Kennedy King $10,000 Transfer Scholarship Application Now Open!
Each spring, the Kennedy-King Memorial Scholarship Fund awards two-year scholarships of $5,000 per year to Contra Costa County community college students. Eligible student will transfer in the upcoming fall or spring to junior standing in four-year accredited institutions. Application workshops and essay workshops are available!
