Gravitas Artist Reception
Friday, June 15th, 6-9pm
1 Washington Street, Suite 106, Dover
The Art Center will host an artist's reception for Aaron Stanley's exhibit Gravitas. Gravitas is an exhibit of kinetic art demonstrating physical principles of movement, balance, color, light and shadow. Exquisitely balanced elements of copper, aluminum, and found objects move in a slow-motion dance, guided by the slightest breeze. And this dance is revealed on the walls behind the sculpture as shadows cast from halogen lighting, reminiscent of dancers behind a screen.
As well as Aaron's kinetic art, his unique sculptures and paintings will also be on display. Using a variety of techniques and materials, he is able to evince the familiar from the unexpected.
Visitors are invited to The Art Center for this reception, which runs from 6pm - 9pm this Friday, June 15, 2018 Light refreshments will be served.

Walking Tours of Historic Dover
Now through Labor Day Weekend
The Dover Chamber is once again offering walking tours of historic Dover on Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Three different 90 minute walking tours will be offered throughout the summer, and take place from one of three Dover locations as specified on the tour schedule.
The next Downtown Tour will be held on Saturday, June 16th at 10:30 a.m. leaving from the Dover Chamber parking lot located at 550 Central Avenue. You will stroll down the Central Avenue Business District while learning about the rise and fall of the textile industry, "Dover's Black Day," and notable visitors and residents of Dover's past. You will also visit the Cochecho, Bellamy and Piscataqua Rivers that gave Dover its economic advantage, from ship building, to farming, to leading the way in cotton manufactured goods from the 1820s to 1880s. Along the way you will notice the ten different types of architecture used through the City dating back to the late 1700s.

Garrison Players Youth Eductaion Presents: Grease School Version

Here is Rydell High's senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding "Burger Palace Boys" and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking "Pink Ladies" in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head "greaser" Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their "Summer Nights" as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as "Greased Lightnin'," "It's Raining on Prom Night," "Alone at the Drive-In Movie" recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation. Gatsby Garden Party at the Wentworth House

Nearly a century ago in the 1920s, Rollinsford's historic Colonel Paul Wentworth House hosted formal garden parties, concerts, and teas. On
Sunday, June 24
the Roaring 20s will return with a Gatsby Garden Party from
11 am to 4 pm.
Pack a picnic if you wish, don some Jazz Age attire (encouraged but not required) and toddle over to the Wentworth House for an afternoon of 1920s-style diversions. Outside, guests can play croquet, horseshoes, and badminton on the lawn or simply stroll in the garden. Indoors, guests can explore the house, view an exhibit of local artifacts from the 1920s, and enjoy films from the era, complete with popcorn. Light refreshments will be served. This event is hosted by the Association for Rollinsford Culture and History (ARCH), which maintains the Wentworth House. At
