News from the CITT/ICTS National Board

The members of the
National Board
, along with the National Coordinator, held a board meeting on April 14
th
in Montreal. This long overdue meeting was very productive. Below are some of the topics of discussion and decisions that were made:
Rendez-vous cities
- The Board's choice of city for Rendez-vous 2019 is Whitehorse, Yukon
- Rendez-vous 2021 will take place in Calgary, Alberta in conjunction with World Stage Design 2021
- Rendez-vous 2020 city is to be determined.
Finances
- The Financial Year End 2018 budget operational surplus is estimated at over $20 000 for an accumulated surplus of over $200 000.
- The Financial Year End 2019 budget was approved, including same fee structures with the exception of Rendez-vous trade show booth spaces.
- The Board approved donations of $1000 to The AFC and $1500 CAN to Behind the Scenes, thanks to the funds raised during Swag Bingo at Rendez-vous.
Policies and governance
- The board approved the following policies:
- Terms of Reference for the CITT/ICTS Finance Committee
- Policy regarding Salary Disclosure Required on CITT/ICTS Job Board Postings. The policy is now listed on the online job board.
- A CITT/ICTS Reimbursement of Travel and Other Expense Policy
- Board will be reviewing the CITT/ICTS Awards and their criteria.
- A Board ad hoc committee was struck to create a terms of reference guideline document for CITT/ICTS committees.
Since the Board Meeting…
- The Board, along with the National Coordinator, brainstormed ways to reinvigorate Rendez-vous. Stay tuned for ideas from the Board and discussions with members at Rendez-vous 2018!
- Revised Board Slate and election – the Board has approved the election and appointment of the following members for the 2018-19 Board of directors:
- President: Olivier Gagnon QC
- Vice President: Eric Pells BC
- Treasurer: Al Cushing YT
- Director at Large: Paul Del Motte NB
- Director at Large: Angela Drainville YT (appointed by the Board to fill vacancy for one year)
- Director at Large: Matt Frankish ON (appointed by the Board in replacement of the vacant Past-President position for one year)
- Director at Large: John Raymond AB
- Remaining Board members are:
- Secretary: Michael Harris ON
- Director at Large: Scott Martin ON
- Director at Large: Esther Van Eek ON

Les membres
du conseil d’administration
et la coordonnatrice nationale ont tenu une réunion le 14 avril à Montréal. Cette réunion très attendue a été fort productive. Voici quelques-uns des points de discussion et des décisions qui ont été prises:
L
es prochaines villes pour Rendez-vous
- Le choix de la ville pour Rendez-vous 2019 est Whitehorse, au Yukon.
- Rendez-vous 2021 aura lieu à Calgary, Alberta, conjointement avec World Stage Design 2021.
- Le choix de la ville pour Rendez-vous 2020 reste à déterminer.
Les finances
- L'excédent budgétaire de l'exercice 2017-18 est estimé à plus de 20 000 $, menant l’excédent cumulé à plus de 200 000 $.
- Le budget de l'exercice financier 2018-2019 a été approuvé, incluant les mêmes tarifs que l'exercise précédent, à l'exception de ceux des kiosques pour le salon Rendez-vous.
- Le conseil a approuvé des dons de 1000 $ à l'AFC et de 1500 $ à Behind the Scenes, grâce aux fonds recueillis lors du bingo-butin au Rendez-vous.
Politiques et gouvernance
- Le conseil a approuvé les politiques suivantes:
- Termes de référence du comité des finances CITT/ICTS
- Politique concernant la divulgation des salaires sur le babillard d’emplois du CITT/ICTS. La politique est maintenant affichée sur le babillard d’emplois en ligne.
- Une politique de remboursement des frais de voyage et autres dépenses du CITT/ICTS.
- Le conseil révisera les prix du CITT/ICTS et leurs critères.
- Un comité ad hoc du conseil a été formé afin de créer un document d'orientation sur les termes de référence pour les comités du CITT/ICTS.

- Le conseil d'administration et la coordonnatrice nationale ont réfléchi à des façons de revigorer Rendez-vous. Restez à l'écoute des idées du conseil et des discussions avec les membres lors du Rendez-vous 2018!
- Révision de l’élection du conseil d'administration - le conseil a approuvé l'élection et la nomination des membres suivants au conseil d'administration de 2018-2019:

Canada Council for the Arts
and the
Department of Canadian Heritage
announced
$550,000 to be directed towards a wide range of undertakings to prevent harassment in the arts.
The
Cultural Human Resources Council (CHRC)
will play a lead role, coordinating this far-reaching series of anti-harassment initiatives in the live performing arts, visual arts and crafts, and literary arts.

financial aid totalling $900,000 to fight sexual assault and harassment in Quebec’s cultural sector.
