Cher Confrères et Consœurs,
Once again we gather in the spirit of Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité to celebrate Bastille Day. Our venue this year is the newly opened event space from The Wine Feed, Pine & Poplar, where we will gather for a Picnic en Blanc on Saturday, July 14th beginning at 3:30PM.
Pack your picnic basket and demonstrate your culinary prowess (or excellent shopping taste), and bring along your joie de vivre in the spirit of the Chaîne. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with pain (bread, not actual pain), mini-beurre jambon sandwiches, mini quiches, salade nicoise, les fromages & charcuterie , and, of course, vin. Nibble on these culinary delights to fuel your creativity as you decorate your picnic space, remembering that white is de rigueur.
French sparkling, white and red wine will be served along with the hors d'oeuvres, and you may also purchase bottles to pair with your picnic on-site from The Wine Feed. Please note that due to licensing restrictions, bringing in your own alcoholic beverages is not allowed.
There will be some French Trivia during the evening, and a special guest judge will award prizes Most Creative Decor and Sumptuous Spread.
Dress with éclat, remembering that head-to-toe white is the evening's theme. (With the exception of ribbons, of course!)
The cost for this unique event will be $60 for Chaîne members, non-members, their spouses/partners/guests. Seating is very limited, so please reserve early to ensure a space.
Tables will be laid with white cloths. Participants will bring along their picnics, wine glasses, place settings, flowers and other decor to enhance their space.
