An Update On Our Herd

The Flying U herd is ready to go back to work with our guests this spring. The wranglers have started to ride some of the new horses that joined our team at the end of our season last year. With the longer days the horses are beginning to shed their wooly winter coats in anticipation for the warmer spring weather.

This spring we will be adding an additional 20 horses to our herd. The wranglers will be busy getting these new horses used to the ranch trails before the guests take them for a spin. Our wranglers spend lots of quality time getting to know the quirks and personalities of each new addition. Don't be shy to ask if any of our new horses are right for you!

7 New Outstanding Programs for 2019

Since the new management took over guests have commented on the many improvements in programs and facilities. For 2019 this work continues:

1. We are implementing a full 16 item lunch buffet as a standard feature. Introduced last season on a trial basis the lunch buffets were an immediate hit.
2. A new position has been created of "Trail Master". With over 160 kilometres of trails on 60,000 acres the task of signage, maintaining and improving the trails, and daily maintenance has become a full-time job! Our Trail Master will also serve as the "go to" Wrangler for new guests looking for advice on trails.
3. Our Wrangler for a week program has been expanded. Due to popular demand we now offer three separate workshops one in the Spring and two in the Fall. Check the 2019 schedule for dates.
4. Yoga Retreat. The ranch is partnering with an International Yoga group based in California which does Yoga workshops in the USA and Mexico. The Flying U will be an ideal location for their expansion to Canada and stay tuned for information as its released.
5. Our Equine department is undergoing a major expansion in 2019 with over 20 new horses being added to the herd. We are also adding new winter blankets, new saddles, and riding helmets for the kids.
6. This year we have added new talent to our Saturday night entertainment lineup. We kick it off with "Nearly Neal" who will be performing for the first time at the ranch on the May Long Weekend. Special thanks to all our returning performers.
7. To improve the overall guest experience we have promoted Ninon Chiberches to our newly created Hospitality Manager. Ninon is just completing her Masters in Sustainable Leisure Management and has been tasked with all guest activities including daily reservations, weddings, and corporate retreats.
