There will be a critical vote in Chicago's City Council NEXT WEEK on the proposed restrictive scheduling ordinance. We need you and your employees who reside in Chicago to speak up RIGHT NOW and voice their opposition to this ordinance. As employees learn what this means for their livelihoods, many are AGAINST the proposal. The time is now to get your employees to email City Council in advance of next week's committee vote.

As you know, the restrictive scheduling ordinance:
  • Locks employees into rigid schedules that can't accommodate last-minute school or family obligations, illnesses, or even extreme weather, without at least two weeks notice.
  • Discourages - even penalizes - employers who work with their employees who voluntarily want to trade shifts or pick up additional hours with less than two weeks advance notice.
  • Prevents employees from picking up extra shifts to maximize their take-home pay.
  • Prohibits employees from stacking consecutive shifts to maximize their time off or accommodate those who can only work a few days each week.
Send an email to your alderman RIGHT NOW and then forward this link to your employees to do the same. We've heard from many Aldermen that they need to hear from our employees on their position.

Thank you for your support.
