This month features college ministry in Waco. The June topic will be General Convention, the Episcopal Church’s triennial gathering, which takes place in Austin in July. St. Paul’s, Waco will sponsor a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, September 1-9, 2018. Room is still available for the tour with the Rev. Ray Waldon, rector of St. Paul’s. Special arrangements have been made for seniors and those with limited mobility. Cost is approximately $3,800, registration is open until July 1 at which time full payment will be due. Education for Ministry training will be held at Camp Allen from 3 p.m. on Friday through 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 20-22, 2018. Cost is $300 (will increase to $325 on June 20). If you had to cancel a previous training, please reregister and choose the “pay by check” option. Formation, for designated “formation eligible” must have a current group to qualify. This year's Episcopal Night with the Astros will take place Friday, July 13 as the World Series Champs Houston Astros face the Detroit Tigers. Christ Church Cathedral will host a free hotdog cookout from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. For ticket information, visit  here .
All rising 4th-6th graders are invited to spend the weekend at their Cathedral in downtown Houston. Activities include a campus scavenger hunt, sleeping over in the Treehouse youth space, serving in the community, riding the Metro and worshiping at the 9 a.m. service along with their families Sunday morning. This weekend will introduce our intermediate students to the life-long call of service and worship while learning the value the Church and world place on their unique gifts and talents. St. Thomas the Apostle, Nassau Bay will host a week-long Icon Wr i ting Workshop from Monday, August 6 through Friday, August 10 taught by Teresa Harrison and Kara Nelson. In this Icon Writing Workshop, participants learn the prayerful practice of painting or "writing" a Byzantine style. In response to Hurricane Harvey, Texas ESC has partnered up with organizations in Galveston County to aid in recovery, rebuilding, and reforming community. We believe that there is immense value in learning about what relief, recovery, and coping look like in the wake of natural disaster. Episcopal Revival Worship, July 7, 5:30 - 7 p.m.
Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, who delivered the sermon at the Royal Wedding, will preach at this revival at the Palmer Events Center, across Lady Bird Lake from the Convention Center in downtown Austin.
