L&T Technology wins digitalization contract from ExxonMobil Exploration

Shell Energy wins LNG bid

Thenassauguardian.com, April 11, 2018: Further details about Shell Energy North America's successful bid to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant to service Bahamas Power and Light's (BPL) customers on New Providence could be revealed by Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis in Parliament today, Guardian Business understands.  Cabinet finalized its decision during its weekly meeting yesterday.
Shell Energy North America emerged the winning bidder out of 19 companies considered by BPL's board.  The plant, which will be constructed near BPL's Clifton plant, is expected to cost upward of $100 million and could reportedly be completed in 18 months, Guardian Business understands. Shell Energy North America, as part of the Shell Global Trading network, is among the largest wholesale energy marketers in North America and its subsidiaries trade and market natural gas, wholesale power and environmental and risk management products with counter-parties  throughout the region, according to its website.  Read more...
Emerson donation to help University of Texas chemical engineering students prepare for careers in industry

Emerson.com, April 10, 2018: Upgrades to distillation column and computer labs will give students hands-on learning experiences using current industry process control systems and software
A recent announcement from the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering details Emerson's upgrades to process control equipment and computer labs at the University of Texas at Austin. The equipment Emerson supplied for the department's distillation column experiment station is the same that is used in control centers of an actual plant, exposing students to real-world challenges they might face. "For decades, we've maintained a strong relationship with the University of Texas through donations like this, along with education, research and development initiatives," said Jamie Froedge, president of Process Systems and Solutions, Emerson Automation Solutions. "Emerson remains committed to supporting the communities where we operate and fostering learning and educational programs for current and future engineers."  Read more...
Comcast Plants Acorn TV in Xfinity On-Demand Menu

Variety.com, April 9, 2018: The British - and others - are coming to Comcast. Acorn TV, a subscription video-on-demand service specializing in U.K. and international television, is now available to the cable giant's Xfinity TV customers nationwide.
It's the first pay-TV distribution deal for RLJ Entertainment's Acorn TV, which offers a lineup of mysteries, dramas, and comedies previously unavailable to U.S. audiences. The advertising-free SVOD service is available to Comcast subs for $4.99 monthly.
"The addition of Acorn TV and its curated collection of standout international television provides even more choice to our Xfinity TV customers, giving them another way to watch their favorite series or discover new and classic programs," said Michael Imbesi, Comcast Cable's VP of movies and pay-per-view programming.   Read more...
Russia's Gazprom claims it doesn't plan to stop gas transit through Ukraine

Uawire.com, April 11, 2018: Alexey Miller, CEO of Gazprom, said that the company has never raised the issue of stopping gas transit through Ukraine, RIA Novosti reported.
According to him, Russia's resource base is currently shifting "north", so the central gas-transport corridor "won't have the same level of resources." Miller emphasized that the gas transit through Ukraine can remain at a rate of 10-15 billion m3 of gas per year, but Kyiv must justify "the economic feasibility of a new transit contract."  German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated that the project of the gas pipeline Nord Stream-2 is not possible without gas transit through Ukraine. She discussed the Nord Stream-2 project with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a  telephone conversation  on April 9.   Read more...

Russia has all the essentials to move up the Doing Business rating ladder, PM says

Tass.com, April 11, 2018: MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. Russia has what it takes to climb higher up the Doing Business rankings, despite all current problems, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday. He was speaking in the State Duma, Russia's lower house of parliament, presenting a report on the work of the government.
Medvedev recalled that one of the Cabinet's key tasks for 2012-2017 was to create a more attractive business environment. In 2012, Russia ranked 120th in the Doing Business index and its closest neighbors were Cape Verde and Costa Rica.
"One cannot say that Russia produced perfect conditions in six years, that would be an exaggeration, there are still problems, but we've moved up 85 places in the rating and currently rank 35th. No country in the world advanced so quickly in this rating. Now Russia stands next to Japan, and there are all the prerequisites for us to move up further," Medvedev emphasized.  Read more...
Russia doubles LNG exports as revenues grow threefold

Rt.com, April 10, 2018: Exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia doubled to five million cubic meters in the first two months of the current year compared to the same period in 2017, the Federal Customs Service reports.
Revenues from LNG sales abroad more than doubled to $667.8 million in January-February against the same period last year. In February, exports reportedly declined by 9.1 percent month-on-month to 2.4 million cubic meters with export proceeds increasing by 0.9 percent to $335.4 million.
At the same time, Russia's exports of natural (piped) gas fell by 14.4 percent to 35.2 billion cubic meters in the first two months of 2018. Revenues from export sales grew by one percent to seven billion dollars. In February, sales of natural gas decreased by two percent compared to January 2017, while the revenues grew by 1.1 percent to $3.5 billion.
All in all, Russia exported 210.2 billion cubic meters of gas in 2017, with revenue reaching $38.1 billion, according to the customs service.  Read more...
Russian companies to pour over $22 bln into oil production in 2018

Tass.com, April 6, 2018: MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Capital investments of companies in 2018 in oil production will amount to 1.3 trillion rubles ($22.48 bln), Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak told reporters.
"We focus on 1.3 trillion rubles ($22.48 bln) of capital investment by vertically integrated companies in oil production. Last year we had a very large increase of 10%, so maintaining this level would be a good figure," the Minister noted.
At the same time, Novak did not rule out that the volume of investments might be bigger. In 2017, the capital investments of vertically integrated companies amounted to 1.33 trillion rubles ($22.99 bln). In 2016 this figure reached 1.21 trillion rubles ($20.9 bln).
The Russian Ministry of Energy does not rule out the possibility of involving countries that do not export oil, but produce it, to participate in balancing the oil market. "Countries non-exporters that produce oil might be invited," he said.  Read more...
Novatek starts first deliveries from Yamal LNG under major contracts

Tass.com, April 6, 2018: MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Novatek has already initiated deliveries of liquefied natural gas (LNG) under major contracts, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian gas producer Leonid Mikhelson told reporters on Friday.
"[We] have already started. From April 1," the top manager said. 
"About 3 mln tonnes have already been contracted for Gazprom; it will get five or six lots this year. The same volume of 3 mln tonnes was contracted by [Yamal LNG] shareholder CNPC for the domestic market, and 5 mln tonnes by Total.
The first loading of Yamal LNG gas on board of the LNG carrier was made on December 8, Mikhelson said. First deliveries of LNG were spot-based; supplies under long-term contracts are to start from the second quarter of 2018.  Read more...
Russia mulls payments for oil in national currencies with Turkey and Iran

Tass.com, April 7, 2018: ANOSINO /Moscow region/, April 7. /TASS/. Russia is considering an option of payments for oil in national currencies, in particular with Turkey and Iran, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.
The parties are interested in it but there is also a matter of conversion of currencies and their further use, he added.
"There is a common understanding that we need to move towards the use of national currencies in our settlements. There is a need for this, as well as the wish of the parties. This concerns both Turkey and Iran - we are considering an option of payment in national currencies with them. This requires certain factors in financial and economic sector and in banking sector," he said.  Read more...
Russian scientists invent device that swiftly analyzes composition of unknown substances
 
Tass.com, April 5, 2018: A device for mass spectrometers, enabling the study of selected substance in order to ascertain its composition from "four perspectives", has been developed by researchers from the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), Skoltech's press office reported.  The new device makes it possible to simultaneously study a selected substance from "four perspectives," and to work at the same time with several substances at one mass spectrometer. A classical mass spectrometer implies that work with different substances must be done sequentially.  Read more...
Russian agricultural boom relies on foreign technologies

Realnoevremya.com, April 6, 2018: Russia is increasingly acquiring equipment and know-how from outside the country to expand agricultural output, claims Bloomberg. Local farmers are importing better seeds, greenhouses and even milking cows to improve domestic capacity. Foreign technology import can cost farmers from 20% to 90% of what they spend on getting new production operating, estimates St Petersburg-based Agriconsult. ''It's expensive but reliable. There are some domestic substitutes, but they aren't as effective,'' Agriconsult's Director General Andrey Golokhvastov commented. Meanwhile, according to government data, agricultural investment reached 374,7 billion rubles ($6,6 billion) in 2017, which is 3,1% more compared to the previous year.  Read more...
Azerbaijani named BP Vice President Australia

En.trend.az, April 2, 2018: Baku, Azerbaijan, April 2.  Emil Ismailov has been appointed as BP Vice President Australia effective May 1, 2018, said a message from BP.
Currently Ismailov is head of planning and commercial operations for BP Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey (AGT), North Africa and Middle East.  In his new role, Ismailov will be responsible for managing BP's upstream joint venture businesses in Australia. He will be a member of the Asia Pacific leadership team.
Ismailov brings more than 19 years of industry experience to the role gained from positions in Baku, Aberdeen and Sunbury. He has a strong performance track record of leading teams across multiple geographies, managing external stakeholder relationships, joint ventures and leading negotiations.

One more Azerbaijani may join Supervisory Board of Russia's VTB Bank

En.trend, April 10, 2018: Russia's Deputy Minister of Economic Development Azer Talibov, an Azerbaijani by nationality, may become a member of the Supervisory Board of VTB Bank, Vedomosti news website reported.  The VTB Bank Supervisory Board may also include Igor Repin, a member of the Shareholders Consulting Board of VTB Bank, and Mukhadin Eskindarov, rector of the Financial University under the Government of Russia.  On these posts, they will replace former Deputy Minister of Economic Development Nikolai Podguzov, Deputy Director General at Russia's Institute for Development of Financial Markets Valery Petrov, and President of the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management Andrei Sharonov.
Another Azerbaijani, Shahmar Movsumov, executive director of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan, is presently a member the VTB Bank Supervisory Board.   Read more...

Запуск нового спутника связи для "Газпрома" наметили на январь 2019 года

Ria.ru, 6 апреля, 2018: МОСКВА, 6 апр - РИА Новости. Запуск нового космического аппарата связи "Ямал-601" планируется в январе 2019 года на ракете-носителе "Протон", заявил РИА Новости генеральный конструктор спутникового оператора "Газпром космические системы" (ГКС) Николай Севастьянов."Планируем запустить в январе следующего года", - сказал он.
Как уточнил РИА Новости заместитель гендиректора по маркетингу и бизнес-планированию ГКС Игорь Кот, новый спутник создает французский производитель Thales Alenia Space на своих мощностях в Канне. В рамках финансирования проекта "Ямал-601" для строительства спутника "Сбербанк" ранее предоставил пять кредитных линий на сумму более 350 миллионов евро.
По словам Кота, космический аппарат строится в полном соответствии с графиком, согласно которому до конца 2018 года он должен быть доставлен на космодром Байконур для подготовки к запуску. "Ямал-601" строится на базе платформы Spacebus-4000. Объем ресурса С-диапазона спутника "Ямал-601" составит 38 эквивалентных транспондеров, Ka-диапазона - 16 транспондеров по 450 МГц и четыре транспондера по 1,8 ГГц.   Читать далее...
Exxon и Катар ведут переговоры о сделке в области американских газовых активов 

News.rambler.ru, 10 апреля, 2018: Exxon Mobil Corp. ведет переговоры о партнерстве с Катаром, в результате которых эта ближневосточная страна может стать владельцем газовых активов в США. Об этом сообщает Dow Jones со ссылкой на информированные источники.
По словам источников, в результате сделки государственный нефтегазовый гигант Qatar Petroleum может инвестировать средства в крупные газовые запасы Exxon в США, простирающиеся от Западного Техаса до Северной Дакоты. Стороны стремятся углубить взаимовыгодные отношения, в которых нуждаются для противостояния текущим вызовам. Согласно источникам, сотрудничество может принять форму СП, в котором Катар станет партнером или инвестирует средства в будущие скважины совместно с XTO Energy, филиалом Exxon. Rosneft.ru,10 апреля, 2018: НК «Роснефть» приступила к промышленному выпуску улучшенных высокооктановых бензинов (в том числе и фирменных), значительно превосходящих по экологическими показателям и эксплуатационным свойствам, выпускаемое в настоящее время в России топливо «Класса 5». В качестве пилотного проекта реализация улучшенных высокооктановых бензинов марок АИ-95-K5 «Евро 6» и ATUM - 95 «Евро 6» начнется через розничную сеть Компании на территории Республики Башкортостан.

Медведев доволен увеличением доли малых и средних предприятий в экономике РФ

Tass.ru, 11 апреля, 2018: МОСКВА, 11 апреля. /ТАСС/. Премьер-министр России Дмитрий Медведев доволен, что за последние годы значительно увеличилась доля малого и среднего бизнеса в экономике страны.
"Особое внимание в рамках работы по улучшению инвестклимата должно быть уделено малому и среднему бизнесу, это так и происходило", - заверил председатель правительства, выступая с отчетом в Госдуме. Он напомнил о принятии "большого пакета решений - от создания профильной Корпорации развития МСП и инфраструктурных решений до налоговых льгот и особых условий кредитования".
"Статистика показывает, что эти решения принесли неплохой результат. За шесть лет количество малых и средних предприятий увеличилось приблизительно на треть, в начале этого года превысило шесть миллионов, а вклад этого сектора также вырос - до 22,3 процента", - привел данные глава кабмина. Котировки нефти Brent достигли $73 впервые с ноября 2014 года

Tass.ru, 11 апреля, 2018: ТАСС, 11 апреля. Стоимость фьючерса на нефть марки Brent с поставкой в июне 2018 года в ходе торгов на бирже ICE в Лондоне выросла почти на 2,9% - до $73,09 за баррель, свидетельствуют данные торгов.
В последний раз цена Brent находилась выше уровня $73 за баррель 28 ноября 2014 года.
Несмотря на укрепление котировок нефти, рубль по прежнему остается в минусе к основным валютам. На 18:15 мск курс доллара к рублю на Московской бирже составил 63,79 рубля, что на 1,22% выше уровня закрытия предыдущих торгов, курс евро вырос на 1,44% - до 78,97 рубля.  Читать далее...
Профицит торгового баланса России вырос на 28,6%

Ria.ru, 9 апреля, 2018: МОСКВА, 9 апр - РИА Новости. Положительное сальдо торгового баланса РФ в январе-феврале 2018 года выросло по сравнению с аналогичным периодом 2017 года на 28,57%, или на 7 миллиардов долларов, и составило 31,5 миллиарда долларов, говорится в сообщении Федеральной таможенной службы (ФТС).
Экспорт России в январе-феврале увеличился на 25,2% в годовом выражении и составил 65,4 миллиарда долларов. Импорт РФ за этот период вырос на 22,1% - до 33,9 миллиардов долларов. По данным таможенной статистики, в январе-феврале внешнеторговый оборот России составил 99,3 миллиарда долларов, увеличившись на 24,1%.
Основой российского экспорта в отчетный период традиционно являлись топливно-энергетические товары, удельный вес которых в товарной структуре экспорта составил 65,7% (в январе-феврале 2017 года - 66,7%). Стоимостной объем топливно-энергетических товаров возрос на 23,5%, а физический - на 9,2%.  Читать далее...
Доходы России от экспорта нефти выросли на 27,8%

Ria.ru, 9 апреля, 2018: МОСКВА, 9 апр - РИА Новости. Доходы России от экспорта нефти в январе-феврале 2018 года выросли на 27,8% по сравнению с соответствующим периодом прошлого года и составили 19,483 миллиарда долларов, свидетельствуют данные Федеральной таможенной службы (ФТС). Общий объем экспорта за январь-февраль 2018 года составил 42,326 миллиона тонн (рост на 3,7%). При этом в феврале было экспортировано 19,241 миллиона тонн нефти на 8,866 миллиардов долларов.
Экспорт нефтепродуктов за январь-февраль 2018 года составил 26,878 миллиона тонн (рост на 2,3%), в денежном выражении - 12,622 миллиарда долларов (рост на 26,1%). В том числе бензина было экспортировано 835,8 тысяч тонн на 472,7 миллиона долларов, дизельного топлива - 8,999 миллиона тонн на 4,925 миллиарда долларов.  Читать далее...
Россия увеличила экспорт СПГ более чем в два раза

Ria.ru, 9 апреля, 2018: МОСКВА, 9 апр - РИА Новости. Россия в январе-феврале увеличила экспорт сжиженного природного газа (СПГ) в 2,4 раза по сравнению с аналогичным периодом 2017 года - до 5 миллионов кубометров, экспорт природного газа снизился на 14,4% - до 35,2 миллиарда кубометров, свидетельствуют данные Федеральной таможенной службы (ФТС). 
Доходы России от экспорта СПГ в январе-феврале увеличились в 2,7 раза по сравнению с аналогичным периодом 2017 года - до 667,8 миллиона долларов. В феврале экспорт СПГ снизился на 9,1% по сравнению с январем 2018 года - до 2,4 миллиона кубометров, доходы от экспорта СПГ в феврале выросли на 0,9% - до 335,4 миллиона долларов.
Доходы РФ от экспорта природного газа в январе-феврале выросли на 1% - до 7 миллиардов долларов. При этом экспорт газа в феврале снизился на 2% по сравнению с январем 2017 года - до 17,4 миллиарда кубометров, доходы от экспорта газа в феврале выросли на 1,1% - до 3,5 миллиарда долларов.  Читать далее...
Калининградская область намерена стать площадкой для эксперимента по параллельному импорту

Tass.ru, 11 апреля, 2018:  Параллельный импорт - это ввоз товаров на территорию страны через каналы, напрямую не связанные с правообладателем, то есть без разрешения владельца патента или официально авторизованного поставщика
СВЕТЛОГОРСК /Калининградская область/, 11 апреля. / ТАСС/. Калининградская область намерена стать площадкой для проведения эксперимента по параллельному импорту лекарственных средств, сообщил журналистам губернатор Антон Алиханов в кулуарах форума IPQourum, который проходит в Светлогорске Калининградской области.
Параллельный импорт - это ввоз товаров на территорию страны через каналы, напрямую не связанные с правообладателем, то есть без прямого разрешения владельца патента или официально авторизованного им поставщика.
"Да, конечно, мы сейчас этот вопрос с Андреем Борисовичем (Кашеваровым, замглавы Федеральной антимонопольной службы) обсудили, мы обратимся с письмом в правительство и будем просить, чтобы такой эксперимент на нашей площадке провели", - отметил глава региона, отвечая на вопрос о том, будут ли власти Калининградской области инициировать эксперимент.  Читать далее...
Инфокоммуникационный кодекс может обеспечить регулирование сферы цифровой экономики

Инфокоммуникационный кодекс, призванный заменить законы "О связи", "Об информации, информационных технологиях и защите информации" и "О персональных данных", при условии соблюдении ряда условий поможет обеспечить эффективное регулирование сферы цифровой экономики. Об этом ТАСС на площадке IPQuorum-2018 сообщил замминистра Министерства связи и массовых коммуникаций РФ Алексей Волин.
Ранее сообщалось, что Медиа-коммуникационный союз приступил к подготовке Инфокоммуникационного кодекса, который должен в перспективе заменить действующие законы в сфере IT и связи. Глава Минкомсвязи Николай Никифоров высказал мнение, что разработка подобного кодекса целесообразна при условии комплексного подхода к законодательству, который должен привести к экономическому росту в стране и улучшению жизни россиян.   Читать далее...
Ставрополье направит экспортеров в Казахстан

Tass.com, 11 апреля, 2018: СТАВРОПОЛЬ, 11 апреля. /ТАСС/. Власти Ставропольского края планируют расширение экспортного потенциала региона за счет продажи продукции в Казахстан. Это направление может стать перспективным для местных производителей, сообщил министр экономического развития региона Валерий Сизов на коллегии ведомства.
"Много выставок и мероприятий [проведено в 2017 году], много заключено соглашений, которые под собой имеют реальные контракты и инвестиции. Несколько менять мы хотим географию выставочно-ярмарочной деятельности - в этом году планируем выходить на рынок Казахстана, потому что мы считаем это направление достаточно перспективным", - сказал он.
По данным министерства, в результате зарубежных визитов и приемов иностранных делегаций в 2017 году производители Ставрополья заключили 91 экспортный контракт на сумму 1,35 млрд рублей. "Радует, что структура экспорта меняется - мы начинаем торговать не только сырьем, пищевая переработка растет в структуре экспорта, как и промышленные товары, оборудование", - отметил Сизов.  Читать далее...
