Grandparents Day Invites

Grandparents and Special Friends Day is coming! On April 27th our guests will join Elementary through 8th grade for an afternoon together. But before they arrive we need to send out invites! Students have been decorating their postcards in class and we'll be sending them out shortly.

There is a limited number of extra invites available in the office if you need one.
Jog-a-thon Tshirt Orders

It's that time again! We're taking tshirt sizes for all students K - 5th for this year's Jog-a-thon in May. Be sure to fill out the form for each elementary child in your family.

We need to order soon, so make sure you have completed the order form!

SCS Game Night

Join us Friday, March 23rd for an Upper School game night!

High schoolers, middle schoolers, their parents and teachers are invited to join Mr. Bratt and Mr. Fox for a casual night of board, card, and dice games in the South Wing of the Secondary building. One disclaimer up front: this will be a no screen/no phone zone -- leave 'em at home or in the car.

Mad Dawgz Jr (the same great tasting dogs from a hot plate instead of a cart) and drinks will be available for a reasonable price. Feel free to also bring snacks or drinks to share, but it isn’t required. The fun and games will begin at 7:00 pm and wrap up by 10:00 pm. And, did we mention? It’s FREE! An RSVP is always appreciated.

When: March 23rd, 7pm-10pm
Who: 6-12th graders and parents. Parental attendance is not required. Please, no siblings younger than 6th grade.
Why: Games are fun, to be together, and to turn off our screens!
Where: South Wing of Secondary Building
Whalso: We might even convince Peter Boersma and Aidan Bakker to beta test their Passion Project skirmish game with us!

One More Thing: This will be a no screen/no phone zone (parents included)

The Good, The Bad (but not too bad), and the Holy

By: Petra Malekzadeh

Sometimes people ask me what it was like to pack up our life in one country and move it to another, with a toddler and a baby in tow. I am happy to say that while it wasn’t easy it was easier than expected. It’s been 11 years since then and we have truly found a home in Seattle. God has blessed our lives here in ways too numerous to count.

Summercare Registration

Summercare registration is now open for 2018. We run a full program during the summer in our preschool facility, including field trips! Contact Amy Hart if you have any questions.

The form can be downloaded here, and returned to the office.
Chargers Basketball Spring Clinics

You are invited to join us at the "LAB"! (3rd-8th grade Boys and Girls)
The "LAB" is where you go to Learn About Basketball. It is a collaboration of our high school girls and boys coaching staffs. It is designed to give Shoreline Christian students and their friends an opportunity to learn the game of basketball thru skill development and small game play.

WHEN:
Beginning March 6th - May 31st
Tuesdays (3:00PM-4:30PM) - For 3rd through 5th grade
Thursdays (3:00PM-4:30PM) - For 6th through 8th grade

Summer Projects at SCS

We are planning some building projects this summer and are looking for any qualified subcontractors. If you have any good referrals or you have experience in construction, HVAC, electrical, concrete or roofing then we would love to hear from you.

We are putting together bid proposals so if you are interested then please email Paul Hopkins.

We will also be looking for any volunteers who can help out this summer. Let us know if you can help!
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
Charger Parent Club

For the first time we are recognizing March as a dedicated month of service in our community and including an exciting challenge! Join us this Thursday morning from 8:30AM - 10:30AM to make our Elementary Kitchen shine and enjoy community with one another! No cooking experience necessary, just bring a smile and a friend.

Our goal is for parents to submit 16 hours together for the project. To date we have 16 hours submitted and 49 to go - we can do this!

Click on our link -  March - Month of Service  for our next service projects.

Thank you to all the volunteers who came out last week during Charger Parent Club to help deep clean the Elementary Library! Together you invested a collective 12 hours of work. Impressive!
Cleaning Help!

While we look for a new janitor, we are in need of volunteers willing to roll up their sleeves to help create a clean environment at school. If you love to clean this is an easy way to gain volunteer hours. We're looking for parents to vacuum and sweep floors, clean bathrooms, and wipe down desks. Time commitment and hours are flexible.

Please contact Paul Hopkins - phopkins@shorelinechristian.org.
Submit Your Volunteer Hours

Thank you to all our fabulous parents who have supported our school by completed service hours for this school year.  The deadline for service hours is Friday, April 6th

Please remember to submit your volunteer hours if you haven't already by emailing volunteer@shorelinechristian.org . Still need hours? Contact Michelle for suggestions or upcoming service opportunities.
