African-American Equity Task Force Event

Nov 12 @ 5pm
Parents, students and families are invited to join the African-American Equity Task Force at “Anchored in Literacy,” an event designed to celebrate African-American families and students and focused on the importance of reading and writing in education. The event is 5pm-7:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at Evie Dennis Campus Student Union Commons, 4800 Telluride St.

Please RSVP  here . This event serves as the kickoff to the African-American Parent and Family Institute, a series of workshops hosted by the task force dedicated to educating and informing families on how to navigate DPS’ systems and structures in order to best advocate for their student’s needs.

Thanksgiving Lunch

We know it's early, but keep an eye out for the flyer about Thanksgiving Lunch here at Hallett on November 21st. We need all RSVPs so the cafeteria staff can place orders!
Note From DPS

Help us plan for the DPS of the future

DPS is considering asking voters for tax funds to support a bond initiative and mill levy override in 2020, and we want parents and families to have a voice about where and how these funds would best serve current and future students. The 2020 Community Planning and Advisory Committee (CPAC) will play a critical role in creating recommendations on future updated buildings and play spaces, improved technology and other essential investments that will ensure quality learning environments for all students. We’re currently accepting applications from members of the DPS community, including parents/guardians, students, educators, community members and alumni. See  here  for the CPAC application -- available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese -- and more details.
