A big THANK YOU to all the parents, staff, and faculty who joined us at our Spring Social,  Spring into Action , this past Saturday night! It was a very fun night for all and a successful one for the International School community! We are still tallying the results, but what is clear is that we came together to support one common purpose . . . our students!

CLASS OF 2020: COLLEGE BOOT CAMP REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

College Boot Camp is a five-day workshop (three hours each day) and costs $200. Choose between two sessions, limited to 35 students each: August 12–16, either AM (9:00 AM–12:00 PM) or PM (1:00–4:00 PM). Payment is your registration and may be made online through student’s account at  https://touchbase.bsd405.org/  or in the office.

IS STUDENTS WIN WA STATE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

IS Students Alec Peyton and Will Surbeck, along with their team, Bellevue Youth Basketball Association’s Select Blue Team, won the Washington State Basketball Championship for 6th Grade. The team was undefeated (5-0), winning the state title on March 17 in Spokane. Congratulations!
NONPROFIT ADVOCATES FOR REGIONAL AQUATIC CENTER IN BELLEVUE

SplashForward, a nonprofit advocacy group, is working hard on Bellevue School District’s behalf to realize a new regional aquatic center in Bellevue to meet a great community need.

  • Home meets & King County Championships in Bellevue!
  • Accessible commutes for team members to train and families to support.

SIGN-UP OPEN FOR NORWOOD SWIM CLUB

It's time to join your local Summer pool! Norwood Swim Club is a fun, family-oriented pool located in the Woodridge area of Bellevue. New Family Memberships are only $595, and swim lessons are $50/5 lessons for members. $75 for non-members. We also have an excellent summer swim team for students K-12.  We even have a water slide and playground!  Come make some new friends and cool off this summer. Red Cross CLUB BLOOD DRIVE THIS MONTH

Join the Red Cross Club for our first ever annual Blood Drive! Donors who are willing to sign up can do so at the sign-up table in the commons. Donors must be older than 16. There will be complimentary food for donors.

SAMMAMISH HEALTH & WELLNESS NIGHT—OPEN TO ALL HIGH SCHOOL FAMILIES

Sammamish High School

You are invited to attend the Sammamish Health and Wellness Night. The purpose of the evening is to spread awareness about mental health and give students an opportunity to share their ideas on how families can promote positive adolescent mental health. 

Local mental health service providers attending: 
  • Youth Eastside Services
  • Seattle Children's
  • The Family Help Line for Parent Trust for Washington Children
  • Sound

Families and community members will have the opportunity to learn about various mental health topics and ways they can positively impact those topics. This learning will be led by first- and second-semester health students. The topics they've selected and will be presenting on include: stress and stress management; anxiety disorders; post-traumatic stress disorder; bullying; self-harm; eating disorders; ADHD; depression; self-esteem; and suicide.  

In addition to providing information on the causes, impacts, and statistics on these topics, students will be proposing an action that families can do to help support their adolescent loved one with their chosen topic.
  
We look forward to meeting you and seeing you at the event. Students are excited to share their expertise and ideas on how to promote more positive mental health at and outside of Sammamish.

THEATER WORKS BELLEVUE ANNOUNCES SUMMER 2019 CLASSES

Theater Works in Bellevue, a s ummer theater program located at Bellevue High School since 2014, provides a place for all ages, all abilities, and all experience levels to discover, create, and explore theatrical arts in a non-competitive environment. Theater Works Bellevue is s ponsored by the BHS Drama Booster Club.

Join her for a three-hour workshop to brainstorm essay strategies and kick-start your writing process!

TRY OUT FOR BELLEVUE CHEER

Bellevue Cheer is wrapping up a very Successful season. They took 3rd place at WIAA State Cheer, leading Championships in both the Traditional and Game-Day Divisions. After qualifying for the USA Spirit Nationals, the team traveled to Anaheim, California, to compete in the Show Cheer and Crowd Leader divisions, making it to finals in Crowd Leading. 
 
Tryouts for Bellevue Cheer are coming up soon!
Practices/tryouts: March 25–28 from 4:15–6:15 PM
