Dear Parents-
Monday, we celebrated the Annunciation of Our Lord, the day when the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and announced the birth of Jesus Christ. With this announcement came Mary’s acceptance of the plan God had for her life. In this same way, God has a plan for each of us. Meditate on God’s plan for you by joining us for
Stations of the Cross, each Friday afternoon at 2:30 in the church.
In conjunction with this, please note that it is
not possible to pull students out of Stations for early release. If you need to pick up your child early on Friday afternoons please come before 2:30. It is very disruptive to have calls made to the church looking for students. There are only three weeks left for students to participate in Stations, so please plan accordingly.
Congratulations to our Kindergarten students for their outstanding performance in
Noah’s Ark.
I was amazed at how well the children knew their lines and I admired their poise and confidence as they were able to recite in front of such a large audience! It was wonderful to see so many kindergarten parents as well. Congratulations to Mrs. Barry, Miss Denneny, Miss Fleming, Mrs. Kulick and Mrs. Schultz, as they did an awesome job preparing the children for their theatrical debuts!
The
Spring Fling and Auction is now less than two weeks away. If you have not already done so, please consider buying a ticket, and joining us for an evening of good food and fellowship, as we raise money to enhance the classroom environment and safety at St. Joseph Catholic School, all for the most important people on earth...your children! Mrs. Brenner, Mrs. Woodson and a host of volunteers are working tirelessly to make this a wonderful event. The faculty and staff are very excited to share their offerings with you and your children.
Spring uniform begins on Monday, April 8th. However, as happens every spring, some days are very cool, even cold. Please encourage your children to dress according to the weather, as in, if it’s cold, please wear a sweater. Shorts are not part of the spring uniform for this year, and are optional for grades K-5 in the fall. If you have any questions regarding the uniform, especially with respect to incoming kindergarten students, please let me know, I am happy to answer any and all questions.
Elections for a new PTO Executive Board will be held in May. Nominations are now being accepted for all offices. Please consider serving on the board. The PTO board is an integral part of the school community, and helps to create a welcoming atmosphere, involving families in volunteerism and service. Fund-raising is also a critical component. Every PTO has unique goals, but they all are grounded in creating the best environment for the students! Please consider giving of your time. If you have any questions, please contact Melissa Arnold, PTO President, at melissa.arnold5@gmail.com
