*** HAZARDOUS WEATHER WARNING ***
NOTE: RVFD Assistant Fire Chief Brian Ballard asked us to relay this warning to all Riverdale Residents.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for our community (and all of Eastern Iowa/Western Illinois):
"TODAY ... This afternoon.
This afternoon. South winds of 20 to 30 mph with isolated higher gusts over 35 mph west of the highway 61 corridor will result in a
very high fire weather danger risk
for all but far southeast portions of the area. The far northwest counties for a few hours in the mid afternoon hours will approach extreme fire danger criteria.
Flooding
is expected along portions of the Mississippi River late this week and into the following week. Please see the latest Flood Statements and Flood Warnings for details.
TOMORROW THROUGH SUNDAY ....
A
very high risk for grass fires
will be possible Tuesday afternoon due to warm, dry conditions and strong south winds. This will be especially for eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois.
There is a
chance for thunderstorms Tuesday night through Thursday night
. The risk for severe storms appears low or marginal at this time. Locally heavy rainfall is possible in stronger storms."
