Daily Prayer
Starter
Please set aside time each day to pray for 2-3 minutes. This week's prayer starter is:
"
Jesus is not dead! Death is not the end of the story. You are alive! You have given me a story to tell, may I do so through the way I talk and the way I walk. Put me to work for you, O God. Open my eyes to see where you need me..."

Music Notes
Nellwyn Beamon, Dir. of Music Ministry
April 4 marked the 50th
anniversary of the death of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Today, we observe that occasion in several ways: the anthem "Blessed Martin" was written by local composer Dr. Carl Haywood who recently retired from Norfolk State University.
Also, Dr. King's favorite hymn was "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" which we will also sing today. And last, but not least, we open with "We Shall Overcome" which was sung during the Civil Rights movement.

General Fund Pledging
for 2018
Thanks to everyone who has pledged or already given!
$151,290 has been pledged so far, but we need to reach, at least, $155,940 to meet our budgeting goals.
As I'm sure you know, this new chapter in the life of Ghent Church is refreshing. But, it needs your financial support. Please pray for God's guidance about your annual giving. Place your pledge card in the offering plate.
