Spotlight on Teen Girl Scouts!
Laci J. - Liberty, MO

Girl Scout in the News! We brought you Girl Scout Cadette Laci J.'s story a couple of weeks. Now, the Liberty Tribune is sharing all about Laci receiving the Daughters of the American Revolution Youth Citizenship Medal. Read the story!
Troop 3716 - Topeka, KS

Every box of Girl Scout Cookies Does GREAT Things! Girl Scout Cadette Troop 3716 shows us the POWER of GS Cookies. These Girl Scouts held a canned food drive, used some of their cookie proceeds to buy fresh apples for Harvesters and then volunteered for 3 hours at Harvesters sorting and packing food!
Excursion: Horseshoe Canyon

Spring Adventure Girl Scout Style! What a weekend it was for 8 Girl Scout Cadettes and a few of our trained adventure staff! They took a road trip to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch in Arkansas where they spent 2 days and 2 nights camping and rock climbing! They learned how to make a fire, pitch a tent and survive in nature in below freezing temps! In total they climbed 7 different routes ranging from grade 5.7-5.9! Now that’s a Girl Scout adventure!
Cocoa with Cops: Troop 3090

Cocoa with Cops! What a SUPER COOL experience GS Cadette Troop 3090 from Kansas City put together for their Daisy, Brownie & Junior sister Girl Scout troops! Troop 3090 wanted other Girl Scouts to be inspired, ask questions and ultimately see how the STRONG police women of the KCPD North Division strive in a male-dominated profession. Both Troop 3090 and the participating police officers want to show our Girl Scouts that they too can work hard and become a police officer. We LOVE THIS! Shout out to Troop 3090 and the wonderful police women who gave their time to connect with our Girl Scouts! We bet some of these awesome role models will be joining us for Catching Fury this summer! Remember if you are going into 8th or 9th grade, apply for a once in a lifetime experience!
Tell us your story! How are you or your Girl Scout taking the lead? We love our Girl Scouts in action with our programs, but we are not limited here. Is she taking the lead in school, in her place of worship or in another group activity? Share with us at prdept@gsksmo.org or use the social media icons below with #BecauseofGirlScouts .

They are mentored by remarkable women who are breaking down barriers and stereotypes in what has traditionally been male-dominated fields.
Throughout this intense program, girls grow even more courageous, strong, confident and capable, ready to become our change-makers for tomorrow and role models for their fellow Girl Scouts.
This program will open for Girl Scouts entering 10th grade through 12th grades in Summer 2020. No exceptions will be made.   Deadline to apply has been extended, submit your application today!
