LSU Law students take national championship at Lefkowitz National Trademark Law Moot Court Competition
LSU Law students Briana Falcon and Joe Heaton were crowned national champions of the Lefkowitz National Trademark Law Moot Court Competition at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C., on March 17.

Falcon and Heaton, both from Baton Rouge, took home the First Place Team award, along with awards for Best Oralist Team and second place Best Brief at the competition. The LSU Law Lefkowitz Trademark Law Moot Court team is coached by Professor Lee Ann Lockridge and Advocacy Fellow Annie Scardulla.

This title is the second national championship won by an LSU Law team this academic year and fifth in the past two years.

LSU Law facult y take on students in Cheney Joseph Memorial Mock Trial
The faculty has been summons to appear! We’re keeping the memory of former Vice Chancellor Cheney Joseph alive — and in a spirit that we know he’d love — with a friendly mock trial competition on March 28 to raise money for student scholarships. Put your money on either side by contributing to the LSU Law Scholarship fund in memory of Cheney Joseph.

Energy & Sustainability moot court team makes semifinals; Appellate teams get personal tour of US Supreme Court
LSU Law’s National Energy & Sustainability Moot Court Competition team placed in the top four of 29 teams in this year’s competition at the University of West Virginia.
 
In Washington, D.C., the Thomas J. Moran and Erin Moran Thrash ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition teams got a personal tour of the U.S. Supreme Court building thanks to Ben Aguiñaga, 2015 LSU Law grad and current clerk for Justice Samuel Alito.

National Environmental Law Moot Court team ties for second place in nation
The LSU Law Center’s National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition (NELMCC) team tied for second place and were named National Finalists at this year’s competition, held Feb. 22-24 at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in White Plains, New York.

Lucas Schenk, Benjamin Files win Spring 2019 Flory Trial Competition
LSU Law students Lucas Schenk and Benjamin Files won the Spring 2019 Ira S. Flory Mock Trial Competition on Feb. 25 at LSU Law. Schenk and Files successfully defended their client in the case judged by the Honorable Richard Bourgeois, United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana

Reunion Weekend
