Restroom facilities now open at Bagdad Mill Site Park
Four individual family-style restrooms are now open at the Bagdad Mill Site Park.   The cost to construct the restroom was $143,000 including $10,500 for design and permitting, $30,780 for utility infrastructure and $101,720 for building construction.

The project was made possible by local option sales tax recreation funds, District II recreation funds, Florida Coastal Partnership Initiative Grant funds and a generous donation from the Bagdad Waterfronts Florida Partnership.

"The Bagdad Waterfronts group is proud to contribute funding in memory of Jan and John Davis for their dedication to the park over many years," said Doug Lasater, chairman of Bagdad Waterfronts. "I would also like to thank Commissioner Bob Cole and the many county staff who have partnered with the Waterfronts to complete this worthy project."

"I would like to thank the citizens of Santa Rosa County for voting for the local option sales tax to make much-needed projects like this a reality," added Commission Chairman Bob Cole, District 2.

The restroom is open during park hours, sunrise to sunset.  The 21-acre Bagdad Mill Site Park, located at 6953 Main St in Bagdad, opened in May 2016 and offers a multi-use path, handicap-accessible fishing pier, picnic areas, benches, kayak launch and educational displays.
