Reliable Independent Drivers for the Elderly (RIDE)

The
Reliable Independent Drivers for the Elderly (RIDE) Program
was created, like most JFS programs, to make up for a gap in care and service in our community, in this case, the significant lack of affordable transportation for the elderly. RIDE provides roundtrip rides to medical appointments or other essential services for low-income elderly and disabled adults in Central Florida, year-round and
at no cost to clients!
This, in turn, increases independence, promoting well-being and improving access to healthcare for program participants.

In 2017, RIDE provided
more than 500 roundtrip rides
for individuals in need, and, with current high taxi costs and reductions in transportation assistance offered by insurance providers, we expect the demand for RIDE to increase in 2018.
