Fourth Annual Taste of La Vista Scheduled for July 28
Taste of La Vista, a community engagement event with food and drinks from La Vista area businesses, is back for a fourth year!  

This year's event is scheduled for Saturday, July 28, 5-8 p.m., in the Central Park Tennis Courts. 

Your family can experience, ask questions and give feedback on projects such as the Corridor 84 Streetscape Plan, Civic Center Park, City Centre and others. 

Plus, Dino the Dinosaur will be making a special appearance! 

Also, you can enjoy a variety of pizza, beer and root beer samplings all from La Vista area businesses.

Recreation
Register for the Urban Scramble Adventure Race
The City of La Vista and City of Papillion have teamed up once again for the 9th Annual Urban Scramble Adventure Race, which will take place on Saturday, August 4. 

The Urban Scramble is a unique combination of running, biking and navigating, offered to all racers no matter gender or ability. Grab a friend, family member or significant other and prepare for an exhilarating experience! 

Racers will compete together as a 2-person team running, biking and navigating their way through La Vista and Papillion while searching for checkpoints and completing challenges and mystery events!

Youth Soccer
Season begins in September

Coed Soccer Clinic
Ages:   Boys and Girls age 3 as of August 1
Fees:     Before August 5: $17, non-residents $22
             After August 4: $27, non-residents $32
 
The soccer clinic is comprised of 5 one hour sessions to be held on Saturday mornings from 11:30 AM - 12:30 AM at the La Vista Community Center starting on September 8 and ending on October 6.  This is a parent participation clinic designed to teach the basic fundamentals of soccer while having fun.
 
Soccer Academy and League
Focusing on different soccer skills to develop each player with individual attention and maximum ball touches. Sessions are twice a week for five weeks - academy training/practices Tuesdays with games on Saturdays.
 
The 4/5 Soccer Academy & 6/7 League will begin on Tuesday, September 4and end on Saturday, October 6. The 4/5's meet on Tuesdays from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM; 6/7's from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM. On Saturdays, the 4/5's meet from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM; 6/7's from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. All sessions will take place at the La Vista Sports Complex. 
 
Academy

Fees:     Before August 5: $33, non-resident $53
            After August 4: $43, non-resident $63
 
League
Ages:    Boys and Girls ages 6 and 7 as of August 1
Fees:     Before August 5: $33, non-resident $53

Adult Fall Softball League
Registration will run through August 4 or until leagues are full
Games tentatively start on August 19
 
Leagues: Coed, Men's and Double-Header Men's
Fees:     Coed & Men's: $120 (separate $40 check, forfeit deposit fee)
            Double-Header: $235 (2 separate $40 checks, forfeit deposit fee)
Registration Deadline: Registration will run through August 4 or until leagues are full.
Coed Leagues will be held on Sunday and Friday evenings.
Men's Leagues will be held on Sunday, Tuesday & Friday evenings
Double-Header Men's League will be held on Thursday evenings
Preschool Playtime at the Community Center
Did you know the La Vista Community Center hosts a preschool playtime twice a week?
 
Each Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon the Community Center gym is an open playground for those kiddos who are preschool age and younger.
 
Parents, grandparents or caregivers are welcome to join us for this indoor playtime. We recently expanded these hours as well!
