WHAT IS THIS TRAINING ABOUT?
ADA is a complex law with a number of design guidelines and standards that are regularly updated at the federal level. New guidelines are issued on a regular basis. This training will lead attendees to a better understanding of:
  • How the ADA affects your community
  • Potential implications of non-compliance
  • Practical, affordable steps to become compliant
WHY GET TRAINING ON ADA TRANSITION PLANS?
Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 requires all
"public entities" to provide equal access to all facilities and programs to all persons, including those with disabilities. Several states, including Ohio, are requiring transition plans compliance.
WHO WILL LEAD THE MAY 11 LUNCH & LEARN? 

DLZ's Stephen G. Metzer, AICP, PWS
          • Specializes in public involvement and has implemented numerous comprehensive public involvement programs
          • Has assisted in ADA compliance throughout the Midwest, reviewing crosswalks, curb ramps, bus stops, city buildings, traffic signals, among many other infrastructure features
          • Has an understanding of the unique concerns of all parties involved and find ways to build consensus on controversial projects
