A Note from the Head of Finance & Business...
Open Enrollment is Here

I am excited to announce that open enrollment at Crossroads will begin Monday, March 18th, upon our return from spring break. Securing your space now is an important part of our preparation for the next school year. Early student enrollment is the key component in class formation, faculty development, curricular evolution and facilities arrangement.

This has been an exciting year of refocusing and rebuilding. We have welcomed several new students to the Crossroads family during this school year and continue to tour more prospective parents each week for 2019-2020. Enroll now to secure your place at Crossroads! Enrollment information will be posted at  www.crossroadshouston.org  by March 18th.

We are honored and thankful to be your school of choice and look forward to having our returning and new families with us in the 2019-2020 school year!

As Seen On-Campus

In English Language Arts (ELA) this week, we kicked off National Reading Month by celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday! We read and watched The Lorax, created story maps to identify character traits, setting, and story development. We used that information to write news articles that inform the reader about an event from The Lorax.
NightRageous!

NightRageous was another awesome student planning success - the entire campus was transformed into a sparkling party scene with exciting activities bubbling with social activity! We had a variety of student artwork displayed throughout our classrooms, showcasing the creativity and skills of our Crossroads artists. We also had a video game room with several play stations and it was a hit! The dance room pulsed with student-chosen tunes and the wild moves of our many amazing Crossroads dancers!

We also invited guests this time - It was great to see a few former staff and students! Our current students loved having them with us.

Save the date for the next NightRageous event - Thursday, April 18th!
Cooking Club Enrichment

For the last class of the second session we made something the students have been begging to try - LASAGNA! They were super excited to find out the plan, but less enthused to learn it was a vegetarian spinach and kale lasagna. "I don't eat that! "Why can't we use meat?" "I'll just give it to my mom..." "Can I add sausage to it when I get home?" were some of the initial reactions. After convincing them it would be both healthy  and  delicious, the students jumped right in, mixing and prepping the layers of tomato sauce, oven-ready noodles, spinach-kale-ricotta-egg, and mozzarella cheese for their individual pans of lasagna. With a little sharing and readjusting, everyone had just enough ingredients for their molto bello creations. Ultimately, the students were proud and excited to take their hearty, healthy, delizioso lasagnas home to bake and enjoy with their families. Buon appetito!
