Palm Sunday: Hosanna to the King of Kings - Matthew 21:9

Together in Christ
Dear Friends in Christ Our Hope,
I've been praying to God since arriving at St. Patrick and Christ Our Hope to grow our two shared communities closer together. Who ever thought a global pandemic would make this come to fruition?

This year's Holy Week services all will be done on Facebook LIVE as shared liturgies between Christ Our Hope and St. Patrick. Fr. Bryan and I are both sad not to be able to gather as community at this important time in our Church. Thankfully, we are blessed with many tireless volunteers including video production wizard Nick Marson from Christ Our Hope who will allow us to come together online at this sacred time in the beautiful Masses of Triduum and Easter Sunday.

This year, Christ Our Hope is introducing Tenebrae on Wednesday April 8th at 7 PM on  Facebook LIVE. This is a beautiful and solemn way to begin Triduum which Fr. Bryan and I have done together for over a decade.

Morning Prayer will take place daily at 8 AM on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. These gatherings will be via Zoom.

Holy Thursday on April 9th, also at 7 PM,  will be on Facebook LIVE from Christ Our Hope. All Holy Week liturgies will feature members of both the St. Patrick and Christ Our Hope communities in a variety of liturgical roles.

On April 10 th, Good Friday will be at 7 PM  on Facebook LIVE from St. Patrick. We are blessed to have a homily this year in Spanish from Seattle University rector Arturo Araujo (with English translation in the online worship aid).

The high point of our liturgical year, Easter Vigil, will start at 8 PM on Saturday April 11th from Christ Our Hope. Easter Sunday Masses will be online at our regularly scheduled Sunday Mass times: 8:30 AM, 5 PM (in Spanish) and 7 PM (from Christ Our Hope's Facebook page), and 10:30 AM (from St. Patrick's Private Facebook Group). All these liturgy times are detailed below as well.

All Triduum liturgies will be online on Facebook LIVE and feature American Sign Language for the deaf community at St. Patrick.  We look forward to joining together in spiritual communion with one another for these liturgies during Triduum and Easter Sunday.  In addition, there are a number of opportunities to gather as a community on Zoom. Please see the details below and on our websites.

May God bless you and keep you. May God shed God's light upon you. May God keep you and your loved ones safe in this unprecedented time.

Peace,

Do This In Memory of Me

As we enter Holy Week, we celebrate the gift of the Eucharist as our heavenly food, especially when we cannot gather together in person during this time. We continue to reflect on the challenge of global hunger. How does our faith inspire us to share the gifts that God has bestowed on us? All are welcome to visit crsricebowl.org for more on this important part of our Lenten journey - almsgiving. We encourage you to continue to contribute what you can to your CRS Rice Bowl at home. We will organize collection of your contributions after Easter. Thank you for your support as we feed the hungry together!
