Thursday, May 3rd is National Day of Prayer.   The event, which began in 1952 as a national holiday, gathers believers from all denominations to pray together for the good of our community, state, and nation.

The theme for this year is UNITY, and Christ Covenant School will be promoting the National Day of Prayer through two events which are open to parents and the community.  We will gather in the sanctuary at 8:00 am at our Lower School on 4889 Old Tar Road to pray together as a school and community. Students from the school and local pastors will be leading these prayers and we invite all to attend.

Afterward, we will also gather on the  Pitt County Courthouse steps at 12:00 noon to pray together with county and city leaders.  This event will include a proclamation from the Mayor of Greenville and other ministers who are focused on transforming the community through the gospel.  We invite believers from all denominations to gather at noon at the courthouse steps, 100 W. Third Street, in Greenville to visibly express our unity and agree together in prayer.  If you have any questions or information, please visit the National Day of Prayer website or contact [email protected] .

National Day of Prayer - Thursday May 3
National Day of Prayer at Christ Covenant School will be honored on Thursday, May 3, 2018. Parents are invited to the Lower School sanctuary at 8:00 a.m. for a program to see each class/student perform.  Come and enjoy this day with our kids as they sing, pray, and read scripture on stage. It is sure to be an uplifting and inspirational program.

Our Upper School students (praise and worship team) will be performing on the Pitt County Courthouse steps at 12:00 noon. Make plans to join us in for National Day of Prayer!

Lower School - Red/White/Blue Special Dress

In observance of National Day of Prayer, on Thursday, May 3 Lower School students are permitted to wear red, white and blue   and/or patriotic themed clothing as optional alternate dress for the day.   As always, on this special dress day please remember our dress code modesty guidelines still apply.  Jeans, jeans shorts/skirts/capris are permitted if worn in conjunction with themed attire.  Please do not wear leggings or similar form fitting spandex which would not meet our modesty guidelines. No holes, cuts, tears in any clothing and our regular shoe guidelines still apply.

Please use common sense and make choices that are consistent with who we are as Christians attending a Christ-centered school.  If students choose not to participate in this optional dress, our everyday school attire rules apply.

Senior Trip Fundraisers

Since the beginning of our high school vision, the school has planned to support a parent initiated and planned senior trip experience.  It is by design that we encourage each class to make all of the decisions regarding their trip, including the decision of whether they choose to take a trip at all.  When students enter 9th grade, we encourage parents to organize and begin the process of deciding and planning their senior trip.  Additionally, each class decides the level, if any, of fundraising it intends to undertake.

We will publish this section of the newsletter weekly to highlight upcoming senior trip fundraising activities.

  • The Sophomore class will be hosting a car wash event at Pirate's Cove Car Wash (next to Basil's on Firetower Road) on Saturday, May 5th.  The event will run from 9am until 4:30. A portion of the price of the car wash package will be donated back to the students.  Also, they will be on site to vacuum and dry cars.

Time to Settle Up

If your family has a balance due, please submit payment as soon as possible in order to maintain your spot for next year.  Families with account balances will not be considered re-enrolled for the 2018-2019 school year until those accounts are brought current. If you have any questions about your account, please contact our Chief Financial Officer, Regan Waters, [email protected] .

Upper School Carpool
You may have noticed cones which block the left lane in front of the Upper School during morning drop off.  These cones have been added as a safety measure to prevent cars from pulling around while students are exiting those cars and using the crosswalk from the parking lot.  We appreciate your patience and understand this may cause a slight delay for some during morning drop off.  This was done after a review of the current process together with discussion with parents who had concerns about the flow in this congested area.  Thank you for working with us to keep safety at the forefront of morning drop off!
Reminders

Please support the worthy community support opportunities facilitated by senior Laney Rivera.  Her May organized service project supports of the group Young Lives which is a component of Young Life. The event will be held Tuesday May 8 from 7:15 pm - 8:30 pm at Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church. Volunteers will assist with childcare for the young mothers who are attending the meeting.  You'll be helping with child care of children who are babies - 5 years old.  For more information and to sign up, click here.

Upper School class pictures were sent home a few weeks ago.  If you ordered a picture ($10) of your child's class and didn't receive it, please contact Cindy Suter, [email protected]

We've added a Basil's pizza hot-lunch for TUESDAY, MAY 8 because of the pre-paid for lunches for the cancelled school day back in January (snow).

All students who already paid for the cancelled lunch back in January will automatically receive cheese pizza (2 slices) on May 8.  No further action is needed for those students ( click here to access the list). If your child is not on the list and would like pizza on May 8, please log on to RenWeb and place your order.

The deadline for online orders is May 1.  We have a few yearbooks remaining for sale.  While the date has past for a guaranteed copy, we still have a few more available on a first come first served basis.  To reserve your copy, log on to www.balfour.com.  The online store will close on May 1.

Click this link to see the orders for reserved yearbooks  we've received as of 4/9/2018.
