The Dance Corner News: January 2021
A new year is upon us. Welcome 2021!

While I know everyone is ready to move on and say goodbye to 2020, but we do have some awesome things to celebrate from last year here at TDC.

We welcomed two talented new teachers to our faculty- Mr. Brandon and Miss Jaci, and we also welcomed back TDC alumna, Leianna Dolce to our dance shop and teaching team.

This fall we were voted Best Dance Studio, Best Ballet School in the Shoreline newspapers' Best on the Shoreline readers poll. I am so honored to be voted Best Dance Instructor. Thank you everyone for your support of me and our entire team.

Miss Emilee got married and is now Mrs. Bowden!

In December we held THREE brand new holiday events in the community. The first weekend of December, our students paraded through the Beechwood Senior living community spreading holiday cheer to residents.

The following weekend our kiddos braved the elements to dance for toy donations at Haddam Elementary school and then the next day they did it again under sunny skies at Anytime Fitness in Madison. We collected over 200 toys and gift cards for those in need on the shoreline.

I am so proud of our students not only for using their talents to give back to others, but for their grit and professionalism dancing in the elements, on sidewalks, and in the cold. Our young people never cease to impress me with their resilience and dedication.

Our dancers pivoted to online learning in March of 2020 and they have continued to adapt to new ways of learning in the studio and at home. While last year looked different than any other year in my time at TDC, one thing remained constant. My pride in our students and their commitment to their art, and to their friends and teachers in the TDC community. Watching students support and offer encouragement and words of care and kindness to each other since the start of the pandemic has made my heart so full even on the darkest days.

Let's step into 2021 with a renewed commitment to caring, support, and kindness towards one another. Every day we are one step closer to reaching the rainbow after the storm. We will continue to dance through the storm, moving forward together into the sunlight. We are #TDCStrong so let's #KeepDancing into 2021!

Thank you dancers, families and staff for sticking with us through the past year. We can't wait to see what 2021 will bring. It's going to be our best year ever! Happy New Year!

~Miss Carrie

Dancewear for Chilly Days
During these cold winter months, we understand that students may need to wear a cove cover up over their leotard at the start of class.
Please remember that we do not allow any baggy clothing in class. Fitted sweaters or long sleeve shirts are fine for warm-up, as long as they don't fall below the hips. Leg warmers are also allowed in class.
