Jesus: His Life, a four-part series following the chronology of Jesus' life through the eyes of those closest to him,  premiered on Monday, March 25 on the History Channel and will continue to air every Monday until April 15. Bishop Curry is one of the religious figures providing commentary and context in this series. Check your local listings.

Summer Camp at Bellwether Farm
Bellwether Farm offers a summer camp where school-age children can immerse themselves in fun, engaging activities. These programs will seek to teach healthy social, nutritional, and environmental practices, while providing a safe context in which to encounter God's beautiful creation. Campers will have an opportunity to learn about organic gardening, animal care, and creative cooking. They will also participate in traditional camp activities including swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, fishing, field games, and archery. The Bellwether Farm staff is invested in the life of every camper, seeking to inspire future generations to become passionate leaders in the world around them.

Summer Internships with the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio
The Diocese of Ohio is currently seeking four interns to assist in various offices throughout the summer. Interns will be asked to work a total of 200 hours - approximately ten weeks between June and August. There is a stipend of $10-$12/hour, dependent upon skills and previous experience. The list of  internship opportunities is now available. 

If you are interested in applying, please send a resume and brief (one-page) cover letter that indicates your 1st and 2nd choices of  internships
 for which you are applying, why each internship interests you, and what the experience you would bring to the position. 

You may apply for  internships  in more than one area.  The deadline for applications is  March 31 .  Questions or applications should be directed to  the Rev. Margaret D'Anieri . 
Carlotta East Scholarship
Carlotta East scholarship applications are now being accepted. This program has assisted many Diocese of Ohio women with financial aid since it was first established in 1945. Funds are available for those who need assistance to complete their education, upgrade their skills before returning to the workforce, or complete religious training. The usual grant for scholarship aid is approximately $1,000. Applicants must hold at least junior undergraduate status by August 2019 in order to apply. Information about the scholarship and the application form may be found online at  https://dohio.org/offices/ministries/episcopal-church-women . The deadline for applications is March 31 . 
African American Life and Thought
Join us at St. Michael's in the Hills, Toledo on March 31 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. for poetry readings. The panel of readers will touch on themes of enlightenment, love, violence, justice, reverence, inspiration,
spirituality, identity, and cultural growth, and aspirations pertaining to the African American community and experiences. This event is sponsored by the Commission for Racial Understanding. A complimentary meal will be provided . 
Open House at Bellwether Farm
Please join us for Summer Camp Open House at Bellwether Farm. Come and take a look at the summer camp facilities from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on either Saturday, April 6 or Sunday, April 14. Details about camp schedules and activities will be shared and staff members will be available to show you around and answer questions. Refreshments will be provided. Please park in the main lot. Wagon rides will be available to take guests to the camp. We encourage you to wear boots as the farm is quite muddy this time of year. 
Clergy Renewal of Vows
Clergy Renewal of Vows & Blessing of Holy Oils will take place on Monday, April 15 at Trinity Church, Toledo and at Trinity Cathedral on Tuesday, April 16. Both services begin at 12:00 p.m. and will be followed by lunch. Please register through Eventbrite by Tuesday, April 2. 142nd Annual ECW Meeting
The 2019 Diocese of Ohio Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Annual Meeting will be held at Bellwether Farm on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4. Our keynote speaker will be Lelanda Lee, an active lay leader from the Diocese of Colorado. She served on The Episcopal Church's Executive Council for six years, chairing the Joint Standing Committee on Advocacy and Networking for Mission, and was the Executive Council's representative to the Church Council of full communion partner, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. In 2012, she received the Colorado Bishop's Cross for her leadership and service to the church and the ECW's Distinguished Woman Award. She is an Education for Ministry (EfM) graduate and mentor. The theme of Lelanda's presentation will be "Called into Holiness." The meeting will also include the installation of officers, a United Thank Offering (UTO) ingathering, and the blessing of knitted items for Christmas at Sea. Clergy Conference
  Clergy Conference will be held May 7 - 9 at The Lodge at Geneva on the Lake. The featured speaker will be the Rt. Rev. G. Porter Taylor. The cost is $225 for single occupancy and $160 for double occupancy. Attendance is mandatory for all full-time, parochial clergy. Register through  Eventbrite. Deadline to register is April 19. Spring Youth Gathering
The Diocese of Ohio Spring Youth Gathering will take place on April 26-28 at Bellwether Farm. This is a yearly event for youth in grades 6-12, with a focus on building relationships with God and other youth from across the diocese. The theme this year is ROOTED- expect games, farm activities, music, and more! This event will also give you a "taste of camp" as we look forward to a great summer at Bellwether Farm .  Registration is now open.
Big Provincial Gathering
Province V of The Episcopal Church invites you to the Big Provincial Gathering in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 12-13. Mike Michie, Mission Developer for The Episcopal Church, will be the keynote speaker and conference emcee. Workshops of all aspects of ministry will be offered. Lenten Meditations
Once again, the Diocese of Ohio will be providing daily meditations during Lent. They will be sent out via Constant Contact and posted on the Diocesan Facebook page daily.
PARISH EVENTS
Choral Evensong at Trinity Cathedral
The Choral Evensong is an evening service, rich with contrasts between light and dark, and sung by the Trinity Cathedral Choir, the Trinity Chamber Singers, or a local guest choir. Offered weekly on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m., now through May 15. Each service commemorates a saint from Holy Women, Holy Men, The Episcopal Church's book of saints. The service is followed at 7:00 p.m. by a community soup and salad supper, catered by Luna Bakery & Cafe. The suggested meal donation $6 .
Stations of the Cross
St. Andrew's, Akron invites you to join us for the Stations of the Cross at 6:00 p.m. every Friday evening during Lent .
Lenten Program at St. Michael's in the Hills, Toledo
St. Michael's in the Hills, Toledo is offering five Wednesday evening talks given by clergy from five different religions as part of a Lenten Program that begins on March 13. Clergy from Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Roman Catholicism, and Hinduism will be speaking from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on successive Wednesday nights in Lent. This year's series will focus on the 'High Holy Days" in each different religion - what are they, and how are they celebrated. 

  • March 27: Rabbi Sam Weinstein, leader of Temple Shomer Emunim of Sylvania
  • April 3: Father Jeremy Miller, Pastor of Corpus Christi University Parish
  • April 10: Pandit Anant Dixit, Priest at Hindu Temple of Toledo

A Lenten Journey: From Aloneness to Community
Please join us at St Luke, Chardon for a Wednesday evening program "Invitation to Forgive" at 6:00 p.m. on March 27. The evening will begin with a soup supper. Throughout the program we will consider the theme of invitation. Using the words of Jesus from the cross, we will consider the epidemic of loneliness and isolation in our culture and discern a Christian response that creates community and healing. Materials and resources will be made available for each week, along with encouragement to explore the way others are talking about themes such as forgiveness, service, hope, family, trust, and empathy. Lenten Series at St. Timothy's, Perrysburg
How do we create "sacred ground" where people of diverse heritages and backgrounds can live together with respect and in harmony? St. Timothy's, Perrysburg will present a five-session midweek study on Wednesday evenings, exploring this question. All are welcome to come for a soup and salad supper at 5:30 p.m.  The one-hour study sessions begin at 6:00 p.m. Sessions and facilitators include: 
  • March 27 - "The Confusing Alphabet of Sexuality" - Analese Alvarez of Equality Toledo
  • April 3 - "Toxic Masculinity" - Sarah Rainey-Smithback of BGSU School of Cultural and Critical Studies
  • April 10 - "Tools to Turn the Tide of Hate" - Jason Daniels of JayRon LLC  
All sessions are free and open to the public, with nursery care available beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Participants are encouraged to share in providing soup and salad dishes. Worship services will be offered in the sanctuary following each session, for those who choose to participate .
Shrimp Fry Fundraiser
The Church of the Good Shephered, Lyndhurst is holding a Shrimp Fry Fundraiser on March 29 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The fundraiser will offer meals for dine-in or take-out. You will be able to purchase a shrimp meal for $12.00, a kid's meal for $4.00, or a vegetarian meal for $10.00. Cold drinks and homemade desserts will be available for purchase. Lenten Taizé Service (Theme: Forgiveness)
New Life, Uniontown invites you to add an intimate, personal encounter with God to your Lenten spiritual practices this year. Experience God through the unique Taize style of prayer, reflection, silent meditation, and beautiful music. The 45 minute candle-lit service will be held Sunday, March 31 at 7:00 pm, and features serene Taize music performed by acclaimed classical guitarist Adam Keeler. Brown Bag Concerts at Trinity Cathedral
Trinity Cathedral will host a Brown Bag Concert    "Themes from Cinema Classics" on April 3 at 12:00 p.m as part of their Movie Memories series. Todd Wilson will bring favorite movie themes to life. Trinity Cathedral will also will also host a Brown Bag Concert featuring the Cleveland State University choral on April 10 at 12:00 p.m. For either concert, you may bring a brown bag lunch or purchase one for $7.
Lenten Fish Fry
St. Philip's, Akron is hosting Lenten Fish Fry dinners on  April 5. All meals will be served from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The menu will be catfish or tilapia, baked and green beans, cole slaw, dessert, and a beverage. The dinner is $10.00 for dine-in or carry-out. National Underground Railroad Freedom Center Trip
The Wilma Ruth Combs Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians is sponsoring a one-day bus trip to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati on May 18. The fee of $125 includes the bus trip, snacks on the way down, and dinner on the ride back. Money is due to Dianne Smith by April 6. Presentation on Lead Poisoning
Trinity Cathedral is hosting a presentation on lead poisoning on April 7 at 2:00 p.m. Kim Foreman and Akbar Tyler of Environmental Health Watch will provide an in-depth presentation "The New Cleveland Initiative on Lead Poisoning: How is this Time Different and What Can Faith Organization Help?" A Q&A session will follow the presentation .
Presentation of Tetelestai
St. Andrew, Mentor is hosting "Tetelestai: A musical portrayal of the trial, execution, & resurrection of Jesus the Messiah" on Friday April 12 at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 13 at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. The event is free. Swiss Steak Dinner
St. John's, Cuyahoga Falls is hosting their 2nd Annual Swiss Steak Dinner on Friday, April 26 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adult meals, $5 for children's meal (ages 3 to 8), and children under 2 are free.
