Dinwiddie Chamber of Commerce Newsletter
Good Afternoon Everyone,

Well it's been quite the few weeks. Every time we think we have a routine down, something changes.

I just wanted to reach out to you and let you know that the executive board is still communicating regularly, sharing information coming from the Federal, State, and Local levels as well as other Chambers.

Our marketing coordinator has been attending virtual sessions with both Federal and State Legislators to help stay at the front of all information and resources so we can get those to you.

Below you will find updates and information regarding the chamber as well as important information relating you the COVID-19 pandemic. Please take a moment to click through links.
Board of Directors Ballot
We are excited to present to you two new candidates for your Board of Directors. Please click on the button below to cast your vote!
SB861 - Creation of Benefits Consortiums for Small Businesses in VA
Your Chamber board voted yesterday to issue a letter of support to Governor Northam's office for this bill. Benefits consortiums will expand access and lower premiums for small businesses across the Commonwealth. Benefits consortiums will provide broad access to small businesses, deliver lower premiums, ensure quality coverage, offer strong consumer protections, and maintain financial security and solvency. See below to learn more.

SBA Relief Loan Checklists
The US Chamber of Commerce has released a checklist to use as a guideline for businesses when applying for relief through the Small Business Administration. The links to that information are below.

CHAMBER MEMBER BENEFITS
Have you been thinking about ways to save money? Wanting to know more about adding virtual options to your business? Creating a customer/client newsletter? The chamber is happy to share with you the following member benefit options. There are options for telecommunications, office supply discounts, insurance discounts and more! Take a look and see what may benefit your business.

Are you not sure if your membership is current? Not yet a member, but interested? Send an email to: info@dinwiddiechamber.org and we will get it worked out! We are here for you and our door is always open!
I would encourage you to be sure you obtain information from reliable sources. Each day we hear about more scams, especially regarding phone calls from individuals claiming to be collecting information in order to expedite relief/stimulus payments.

We have added a page on our web-site,  www.dinwiddiechamber.org/covid-19/  which is being updated daily with links to resources and information as it becomes available to us. You may also follow us on social media at  https://www.facebook.com/dinwiddiechamber

I would also encourage you to follow the Dinwiddie County Economic Development Page for additional resources and updates.

While all of our local businesses have been impacted during this time, it is encouraging to see that those who are able to, have been coming up with some very creative ways to operate. If your business is or has done something that you want to get the word out about, please share that with us.
Social Media has become a very powerful tool during this pandemic. The Chamber Board was just looking at how high the social media engagement numbers have jumped during the past 28 days. The number of people reached is up 443%. Actual engagements with our posts are up by 2103% (no that's not a typo). We have also gone up 960% in Dinwiddie Chamber Page Likes.

I know there is much uncertainty about the future but it is in these types of situations that we look to be our best. I pray for good health and safety for you all. #DinwiddieStrong

Best Regards,
