Update From Our Guatemala Team
We had an excellent workday, providing a well-deserved day off for the laundry lady and the cook. We worked on painting the chapel and pulling invasiv
e weeds that are killing the hillside trees (which are needed to prevent mudslides). Of course, we squeezed in some time for play, too!
After a walking tour of the orphanages and the village of Aguacate, we began spreading friendship and love with friendship bracelets, coloring and playing with the kids.
And look at the PROGRESS being made at Hope Academy!

Voice Recital
Last summer, recent University of North Texas graduate, Hannah Ceniseros (niece of Iris Fielden), presented a program to help her raise money for her six week summer program. This time she is thrilled to return with a program of thanks for the love and support this community has provided her.
Date: Thursday, July 19th
Time: 7pm
Place: Parkway Presbyterian Church
Please join her as she shares the talent she's crafted during her 4 years as an undergraduate. Admission is free, but any donation is accepted gratefully and will help provide for the church and community.

So far we have been priming and painting the inside of this new build that replaces a home destroyed by the storm. And outside, we've been digging a ditch for the wiring that will bring running water to the house.

Last Chance to Sign up for Back-to-School Backpack Shopping
If you want to choose a student for whom you can personally shop for school supplies, this is the last Sunday to do so as items are due at the church on or before Sunday, July 29th. You will have this one last opportunity to sign up in the narthex before or after church. The PCHAS clients will be delighted to have new backpacks and all the school supplies required for their grade level when school starts.
If you cannot shop, monetary donations are always welcome. To make it easier, you can text to give: Text
