Time's Running Out!
Take the Youth Survey!
Please Respond by June 20
Holy Comforter is asking our youth members (rising 7th graders-12th graders) to complete a brief (just 10 questions) survey about our Youth program to learn their thoughts, interests, and preferences. The results will inform our 2018-2019 Youth program offerings. The link
HERE will take you directly to the survey on Survey Monkey -- it will only take a few minutes. Thank you!

On Sunday, June 10, The Right Reverend Robert Wilkes Ihloff, Bishop Associate, joined us at the 10:00 service to celebrate the Eucharist and to do Confirmations and Receptions. And how exciting it was to be joined by a surprise guest! Well, it wasn't the real Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, just a life size custom cutout, but we'll take what we can get!

What I Learned About Music Ministry
By Emma Mehigan
Through James Madison High School this year, I had the option to find myself an internship for the week of senior finals. Because I will be studying church music when I get to Furman University in the fall, I decided that it would be beneficial to me to intern with Dr. Kelley for the week. This means that for the week after Memorial Day, I shadowed him and saw all that goes on outside of the rehearsals that I normally see week to week. My goal for the week was to learn more about the job of Minister of Music than I originally knew, which I believe I accomplished. While music and practice is an integral part of the job, there is much more that one must know and be aware of. Outreach, liturgy, and organization are the three most important parts of the job besides the music. All three of these things came up during my week multiple times. It was a great experience and I think that I learned things that I would never be able to learn from sitting in a classroom. Thank you Dr. Kelley for welcoming me for this wonderful week!
